kestrou hooked me up with a front camera so I will use that front camera wire for that power. That wire does have decent explanation.

    Hi all,

I picked up one of the last two PA units at my local Walmart on Friday. I know there are a bunch of threads on 430 stereo upgrades...but rather than refresh one of those, it seemed best to stick with this one for my question.....

My car originally came with Hifi option (ASK amp/booster under dash and subwoofer in the back). Along the way, a previous owner installed a crazy custom system -- it wasn't working when I got the car and I decided, rather than trying to reverse engineer and fix it, I would simply go with the known quantity of Scudaria Audio. Let me add the 1000'th shout out to Mike at SA!!!! Awesome product, even nicer guy.

Anyway. the PO system is mostly gone now, but I am trying to verify wiring before I plug in (and maybe blow up) my SA Super Amp.

So finally my question: The big 'molex' harness at the amp/booster has yellow/yellow-stripe and white/white-stripe going to left and right FRONT speakers respectively. However in the actual door(s), the factory colors going to tweeter and mid (siamesed in the door) are pink-stripe and green. My question is, when/where do they change color in the harness(es)???

I am away from my car right now, but in theory I should have continuity between, for example, pin 18 at the big molex at the amp and the pink-stripe at either the tweeter or mid-range in the drivers (left) door..... and so on for pins 19, 10 and 11 to the doors. If so, again, where do the change color? If NOT, why not and what am I missing...how does the output from the amp get to the speakers.

I made a little color coded diagram of the amp molex (using AldusVoice base image).

Guessing the colors change at the door connector. But why would you want to use the high level inputs if you now have a deck that supports low level?

I would leave the wires for the speaker output disconnected and run the RCA out of the deck directly to the super amps. Just need to alter the switches on the super amp to accept low level input. At least that is my plan once I start the install.

That should give you ability to adjust the front speaker level/crossover etc separate from the rears (which act as "subs") @SoftwareDrone help with paint by number for us?

Thanks! That is exactly my plan…. But previous owner cut and spliced the harness, and god knows what else, so i want to confirm each speaker run for continuity and pin location … a few ounces of prevention vs some expensive and frustrating cures [emoji4]

Closing out my issue - I ended up using RCA cables and the audio is now very clean. This is a very good unit and a great find. And yes, Mike at Scuderia Audio is awesome.

Did you have any luck getting sound. I have the same set up and I’m having the same issue. Everything, including the amp wire, is hooked up and still no sound. Wondering if I got a bad unit.

Not sure if there is a setting in the deck (haven't done the install yet) where you select RCA out vs. internal amp

My dealer installed it today and mentioned the issue was the amp that wasn’t connected. Haven’t seen the car yet but seems to be all good.

For the past few days, when the Power Acoustiks unit powers up, the "radio" has no audio. Nothing. No static -no sound at all. Bluetooth and CarPlay audio all work fine... just no sound from radio stations. If I turn the unit off and off again, it usually then works. Sometimes have to turn it off and on again to get the radio stations to play. Anyone else had this issue?

I have not been able to get any sound from any input. Everything else appears to be working but no sound, not even buzzing. The amp wires are hooked up and it appears to be getting power. Tried everything I can think of but no luck. I’m about to throw in the towel and send the unit back but wanted to find out if anyone in the brain trust has any suggestions before I do.

I am having the same issue. I am using the harness form Amazon, and the unit powers up, CarPlay connects, but no sound either from the phone input or the radio. When I look at the position of the wires from the car (the white and black plastic connectors), they do not seem to line up with anything on the harness side. Maybe a different harness would work, but I do not know what to look for.

I have a 2001 360 Spider, and the configuration on the Ferrari app says the car has the European Hifi option. I thought there would be an amplifier under the radio, but I do not see one. I am not sure if any of this helps.

I swapped out mine for another one at Walmart and the radio on this one seems to work now. Don’t expect any support from Power Acoustiks. I’ve sent them several emails and they do not reply.

I’m running the Metra 70-1784. I have the HiFi System (not Bose).

Here’s a pinout I found helpful which may make sure everything you have lines up. Just worry about the pinouts for A and B below. The others should be used.

I know you weren’t replying to me but I bought the harness from Scuderia audio and I have the hi power hifi system. I’ve already exchanged the head unit at Walmart and no sound with the new unit either. Maybe an amp issue (still works when I hook the Becker back up) but not worth a new amp just to get car play.

What wires line up to pins A5 and A6 on your harness you got?
Pay attention to pin A5 and A6. Was just working with @Melon767 in a chat. Those two wires were reversed in the metra harness, meaning the illumination wire in the metra harness was going to the amp wire in the stock harness and the amp wire in the metra harness was going to the illumination wire.

Finally got around to installing this afternoon - despite picking up the unit a few weeks ago.

Install was super easy. Pulled out the Alpine unit that was there. Soldered the new harness to the existing harness. And all worked perfectly.

I have seen a few others on this thread say it sounded better than the unit they were replacing. I was really installing this unit because of the flush screen and clean aesthetics of it. I did not expect it sound better than the Alpine unit I had - but it totally does. How can this be???

Totally happy with it. Looks great and way easier to use!!!

+1 more here…. No HiFI in the scud so wiring and install is easy peasy. I used the GPS adapter mentioned previously and all good.
It also makes the oem 5” cone thing (I hesitate calling it a speaker) sound significantly better. Not even close to good, but definitely less bad :D

OK, I'm confused here. Was the Amazon harness or one from Scuderia audio reversed for the illumination and amp wires?

I had the one from Scuderia audio. The amp and illumination wires were reversed. I connected the blue PA amp control wire to the orange on the SA harness and the orange PA to the blue/white on the SA harness and problem solved.
