It looks like those Honda Accord kit cars and the site features a quote from fictional character Ricky Bobby.

... as the car does not have a roof and we all know a car without a roof as the drag coefficient of a Kenworth truck.

Unless they use a kit car frame, fiberglass body, & a dragster engine

Btw I'm building a starship and touring the Milky Way galaxy w a 500 billion hp nuclear engine I'm building on my porch LOL

Those guys obviously have no idea how much it takes to get 2000 horsepower. It would not be "streetable".

Likewise how fast 300 really is.

I believe Nelson is making the motors.

Nelson is doing the motors and they do have experience in building 2000+ hp engines. Don't think those engines are at all streetable though. Could get interesting.

"streetable" is a relitive term :D

with enough cubes, race gas, and a good set up it might not be THAT bad  maybe? i dont know  ive not even been in a lowly 1000hp car...

there are vids on their site of 1600/1700hp cars being driven on the street.

As I said before, it's an idiotic idea.

The car itself doesn't look half bad. In fact, if they just throw in a 600bhp engine and sell it like that, it would have been cool!

but with 2000hp (a drag engine), it could probably do 300 mph on the salt flats. Once. Then it needs an engine rebuild.

Who in his right mind would run a car with 2000hp even once every 2 weeks? It would likely need a complete engine inspection after every drive of an hour. You'll be driving with an expensive bomb behind your seat, with a short fuse but you don't know exactly when it'll go of. And when it does, it'll be expensive.

It's a stupid idea. And it has a stupid name on top of it.

Unless they fit massive drag racing slicks (which wouldn't make it a street car) and completely tune the suspension to have the best possible launch, 0-60 in less than 1.5s is NOT going to happen. Nor is 200mph in the 1/4 mile in under 6.7s.

And if they do have all the drag racing stuff fitted, it will NEVER go round the nurburgring in under 6.55 seconds It won't even get round in under 8.30 minutes.

If one wants to be very quick round a track, and nothing else, buy a radical.

If one wants to go very quick in the 1/4 mile, buy a drag car.

If one wants to be able to sort of daily drive and go fast in a straight line and on track, spend a lot and buy a Mclaren F1 GTR, a Veyron (if that's your thing...), 599 GTO, zonda F, CGT...The list doesn't stop but you get the point.

Their ad in DuPont Registry says the 300mph will be an engineers opinion LOL

So they pay off an engineer to say "Ya, this thing could probably do 300mph" if you strap on rocket engines and push it out of an airplane

I'm going to buy 10 chevy vans and make them look like the A team fan. Put in a couple of jet engines and sell them for 450K a piece. In my professional opinion, it could do approximately 320 billion miles a second in space.

It looks decent enough. Maybe they should have started out with a more attainable 800 HP and worked their way up.

I don't doubt the engine, it's the rest of the car that seems like a pipe dream. Consider what VWs R&D budget must have been for the veyron all for "just" 1000 and now 1200 hp. 2000 hp and 300 mph seem a tad unreasonable.

It's called wanking ... I really hope they don't slip and smack themselves in the face.

Even if they do it, nobody gives a flying fnck cause that same car will NOT be able to drive in exactly the same format on public roads, and like I said earlier an open top car will never do it. The shape is all wrong.
