So my SA called me on 8/1 and said your car just hit 90, you are on a boat! I asked "How long ago did I get on the boat", he replied "in the last 24-48 hours, MODIS just updated." Like all the other Fcrazies here I went to vesselfinder to track the Chicago, Vienna and Dalila. None of these boats fit the mark. Vienna is in route to Italy, Chicago left Italy 10 days ago, Dalila left 13 days ago. Unless MODIS is really behind 1-2 weeks, none of these boats are a candidate? So, I went on ZIM and tracked all the boats at Genoa going to NY/NJ and found the Bremen Express. Left Genoa on 7/31 headed to NY/NJ arriving on 8/14. This container ship is also owned by Hapag-Lloyd the same a Chicago and Vienna. (Coincidence?) Do you think Ferrari could have added a new boat to the fleet bringing cars to the US?
I don’t know anything about boats or boat names or that you could even do that kind of research so I find your post extremely interesting and cool. But definitely sounds like you found the right boat based on when it left and that it’s going to NJ… must be exciting…. If your salesman is correct anyway. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
Wow, I did not know you could do such a search. Can your F dealer tell you the name of the boat? What model/specs did you order?
Well, by now, you know the prayer: Please, no EVs Please, no EVs Please, no EVs Please, no EVs Please, no EVs....
Dealer usually doesn't know the name of the boat. We are only guestimating based on when it leaves port. I heard some have called FNA and received the container number and them were able to track it to the boat. F8S - Rosso Portofino on Cuoio Daytona Image Unavailable, Please Login
I thought I had heard/seen it all, but I think you're the first person to want to know which boat specifically it is on, lol. That's kind of awesome. Get your next car airfreighted so we can track the flight
It can be done (several freight forwarders propose this service). But at what cost? I’m sure it must be very expensive. But if money is no object, then the car will quickly arrive.
When I got my 430 in 2008 they quoted me 10k to air freight, I declined since it would have arrived at the end of August, just in time for me to put it in storage for the winter.
Yes. You used to be able to get air freight. It would even appear on the window sticker. I used to see it at around 17k this was years and years ago. In actuality Europe to the US is 18-22k normally. Just shipped a Lamborghini to and from this summer.
Who did you use if you don't mind me asking? It's an idea I've kicked around for a while but a big leap of faith with not too many testimonials out there.
