BTW Sam, I traced (on the roadside) the problem to the fuse box - one of the radiator fan fuses was cactus with heat damage to the holder. Could be another Sam Special coming up...
You'll be right, just do what Gizz has done to his 456,make into a stunner. Oh.....and buy the 5 speed bits from Bill. ......this will mean,of course, that you'll be working Sundays as well.
The one Patrick is after is a 43mm-38mm internal diameter reducer about 165mm in overall length. I thought about getting a run of custom silicone ones made up. A small batch run of these is about the same price that some are asking for an original!
Oh dear... if it's any consolation, both my current cars gave me grief when they were new to me, but ended up being amazingly reliable (37 years with one, 15 with the 308).
Thanks, Greg I stopped in at Burson's on the way home with the (remnant of) the old hose. Managed to get one to fit - 12litres of coolant. Moretti came over to help with my interweb thingy and insisted on starting it, which it did, first go, no bubbles. Here's a question - shouldn't the flat cap be on the radiator and the pressure cap on the expansion bottle? It looks like a pressurised bottle. Anyway, mine were the other way around
Marc 0417776216,you've had 2 fails now,1 from car,2nd..you've invited Moretti around to help doing mechanicing...this is not a good sign.
I am going to buy this for the Doc. Ferrari 400i Auto Transmission Operating Checking AND Diagnosis Manual 157 78 | eBay
Let me tell you about the time I loaded up my wife and two kids to go to upstate NY for a wedding and then we were going to overnight at a nice inn in the Berkshires and join up with a fun VSCCA rally the next day. It was a hot summer day but the a/c was working fine and we had a lovely drive up to the wedding. Parked the car and went in to enjoy the ceremony. Came out to head over to the reception and the car would crank but would not start. Long story short, the infamous fuse and relay panel connections for the fuel pumps had melted from the combination of natural heat and the hot day. Call tow truck, get local hotel room and rental car, and follow the tow truck 75 miles to my mechanic the next day. Kind of put a damper on what was supposed to be a fun and relaxed Ferrari weekend. Naturally after that was when I had the fuse and relay panel replaced with a rebuilt and reinforced one from Arizona. Ironically, with owning the car for 15 years and putting nearly 20,000 miles on it, that was the only time that we got stranded. Timing is everything! Once you get your car sorted, Doc, you will have a lot of enjoyable smiles and miles.
Good day Patrick, Sadly, the fuse blocks used on either the 365 or 400 are different than the 308/Boxer ones... The 365 ones are conceptually similar to the 308/boxer style (see pic), but have a number of physical differences (fuse cover is different, power/load wires connect and exit the block differently, etc). The 400 series... well these are dramatically different. I wish I had a knackered 400 fuse /relay assembly on hand, as I suspect something could be done for less than what I heard replacement assemblies typically sell for. Thanks, Sam - looks like another homemade one from me then! Edit: Actually, Sam, my fuse panel looks nothing like your diagram. My fuses are up above the glove box.
