Any recommendations? and why? I can't seem to find any 458 pics of nero daytona... or maybe they all look nero?
This is Nero Daytona on a Scuderia. I think the color has a softer look to it than pure black does. CH Image Unavailable, Please Login
Yes, and not so terribly terribly high maintenance. Nero Daytona also looks more elegant, Nero more "bad", which is of course a personal preference regarding the image of the car... I would take Nero Daytona with yellow calipers, shields, and a black interior with yellow stitching.
nero daytona is much more foregiving and in my opinion, much more beautiful. The color is so deep and yes elegant.
I just ordered mine with nero daytona, shields, yellow calipers, black daytona seats, yellow stitching...I wanted the black & yellow contrast to be the same as my AP ROO Bumble Bee.
Congrats, almost perfect . I would take the standard seats in the 458 because I like their design and they suit the very modern interior of the 458 better than daytonas, imho. In the California or 599 I would absolutely take daytonas because they suit the style of those cars better and the standard seats are pretty bland. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I spent a couple of hours at the Atelier program at the factory to pick options and colors. I took the Nero and Nero Daytona samples outside to compare. There is more depth in color of the Nero Daytona which I believe will better complement and highlight the curves of the italia. So Nero Daytona it is for my car.
Here is Nero Daytona close up compared to the earlier picture. It also illustrates how the paint shows off the body lines. Note how the light changes the perceived shade of the wheel to. What wheels did you choose with the Nero Daytona exterior? CH Image Unavailable, Please Login
I selected the optional painted sport wheels. However after looking at the quite a few finished cars I decided to not choose a bright color for the calipers. The sport wheels have such narrow spokes that the yellow calipers is the first thing you see when you look at the car. To me it is almost a distraction. So rather than red or yellow calipers I chose aluminum. It blends well with the painted wheels and large rotors. More of a complement than a contrast. Just to "couch" my position......I am an old-school thinker. I prefer less flash in my cars.
I agree. I think the standard seats fit the interior of the 458 better. Daytona seats are getting a bit dated at this point.
The Atelier personnel are pushing silver over red and yellow on calipers for some reason. Many are buying it, but calipers are just like paint and interior colors, purely personal choice. Taz Terry Phillips
Terry, you are right...this is purely a chocolate/vanilla issue. Although I like red or yellow calipers on other wheels, if one specs the optional wheels these bright calipers become too prominent IMHO. I chose the aluminum color. If I stayed with the STD wheels I might have gone to yellow. I do have red on my SA.
Nobody has suggested black calipers. The sport wheels would look really clean and uncluttered with a dark background.
