Hey All, I am getting used set of wheels that came off a 2017 Ferrari 488. I have a 2011 Ferrari 458 and was wondering if I will have any fitment issues with them. Here are the wheel specs. Fronts : 21x9 offset +25 ( 6” back spacing , 2” lip 7” barrel ) Rears: 22x12 offset +38 ( 8” back spacing , 4.5” lip 7.5” barrels ) Canter bore : 67.1 Bolt pattern 5x114.3 Came off 2017 Ferrari 488 I know the bolt pattern and bore size are the same. I am mostly concerned with the offsets of the wheels. Can anyone help me understand if these will fit or not? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Ray F.
Hi Ray Those will fit. The rears have the same offset as the stock 488 wheels. The front has a very aggressive offset, which is 19mm less than OE. Give some thought into what tyre size you'll run, not just to avoid rubbing. The 488 has a lot of understeer from the factory, and this will get even worse when you use a super wide rear. Most 21/22 setups use a 335 rear and a 255 front. That is currently your only size option, and unfortunately, it is a Pirelli PZero. Get your front camber set to between 1.8 and 2 degrees. This will.at least cure some understeer and make the chance of rubbing less. Sent from my SM-G930F using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Thank you Sir for the reply. It sucks that the tire options are so limited with 22s. Like you said its just P Zeroes and I am not too found of them. It does seem like Michelin has options for 295/25/22, but its going to cause the tires to stretch and also 305/30/22, but they might not work as well.
295 is way too small for a 12" wheel. Not only will it look wrong, it will not be safe or drive well. 305/30R22 is too large in diameter and still not wide enough for a 12" wheel Perhaps consider PZero 4 in 265/30R21 and 315/25R22. It is not a Michelin, but never the less, the PZ4 is still a much better tyre than the original PZero. Note that I don't know for sure that the 265 will not rub. But with 2 degrees of camber it is worth a try. If that does not work, I think you should sell them and get either a set of 20/21 or 21/21 if you prefer larger wheels. Thank you Sir, I am currently on stock height. But going to take into your comments into consideration for sure. Thank you so much for helping me out, I really really appreciate it.
You're welcome. No need for the "Sir" If you give the 265 section tyres a try, keep us posted on how it works. I'm sure many here could benefit from that.
I was only going in that direction because they were 3 piece and at the price it was an absolute steal.
Hi I was under the impression you can not run 488 rear wheels on 458. Offets are too low. Rear will poke out a lot . I listed stock offset’s below & , I’m sure aftermarket wheels will already have even lower offset’s 458 Stock 9Jx20 ET46 11Jx20 ET58 488 Stock 9Jx20 ET44 11Jx20 ET38 Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
You are right. I reread the whole thing again, and for some odd reason, I read it as if they came off a 458 and went on a 488. In that case, I would say no. Those will not fit in the rear. Sell them and get something better. Apologies for my mistake. That's a huge brain fart on my part. Sent from my SM-G930F using FerrariChat.com mobile app
