I have a red 1/18 Maisto Lamborghini diecast with flaws in the paint, lots of pitting. I want to have it repainted red but correctly. Can anyone here do it? Please contact me, thanks.

No joke, just go down to a paint and body shop.

About ten years ago I decided to build all the different 308's I saw as a kid and took photos of (I started a thread a couple years ago with the pictures). I bought 6 or7 of the Monogram 308 models on ebay and got to work. I made each exactly like each car I had photos of in every detail. One had oversized door speakers, one had gold wheels, one even had sheepskin seat covers. I duplicated everything on the models, right down to the sheepskin texture.

I took the little 1/24 bodies down and had a paint and body guy look up the codes for fly yellow, marrone, black, black metallic and rosso corso, I paid for a pint or so of each and paid him to spray each one. They turned out perfect, even clear coated them for me.

I can't remember what I paid for all of that but since it doesn't really stand out in my mind now, I am guessing it wasn't all that much. I mean I was willing to pay it, whatever it was and I know I would have walked if it was a stupid amount.

Anyway, just a thought from someone who has done it before.

Thanks Tommy, I did use my paint shop for a larger 1/8 scale, not sure if he'll do the small one but I'll ask.

    Thanks for the help everyone.

Hi Stephane, I think you forgot one car in your lineup of previously owned cars... ;)

A body shop is the perfect address because nothing beats a real car's paint job.

Since your model is diecast, you won't have a problem with the paint eating it.

I airbrush all my models using automotive paint.

me too, it really is a great result, and no need to try and ship in some over-priced small model air brush products (hiro comes to mind, though not meaning they are bad products)
I can go to the auto supply store, pick almost any automotive code color, and have it mixed into small cans for use, and use the base-clear system, with great looking results
