Need a hotel in Nice, France, and what should I do while Im there?

    Need advice from folks familiar with the area...

    I'll be in Nice 22-Mar through 24-Mar. I'd like recommendations for hotels and activities. For hotel, nothing too expensive, but location is important (and clean as well). I'd like to stay where all the 'fun and activities are'; the 'hip' part of town.

    I'll have 3 full days in Nice. What should I do...

    For fun?
    For nightlife?
    For culture?
    Where to eat?

    Its probably too cold to enjoy the beaches and beach 'scenery'.

    Any and all advice is appreciated!

    How about staying in Nice vs. Monte Carlo? More "fun" in Monte Carlo? Is it that much more expensive?
