I'm rooting for JG (championship in last season would be pretty cool) or Truex (I've thought he was underrated for years, and he's a good dude). Kyle and harvick are d-bags. but probably the perfect champions for modern nascar
Only chiming in on this as I was out and about on an errand yesterday out on I-95 and was seeing a lot of NASCAR transporters and support vehicles heading south and it occurred that the finale is this coming weekend at Homestead. Have to admit I haven't been following the nonsense over the past several weeks but as noted, NASCAR is creating the perfect melancholy scenario to have Jeff Gordon win the championship in his last race. It couldn't be scripted any better. "Good Guy" Gordon vs. "Bad Guys" Busch, Harvick and whoever. Watch, once again, how the field clears out of the way for them so they'll all be tied together like a train right down to the last lap and they all end up in a smoking heap under another "managed" finish. How perfect is that? BHW
I can set aside my dismay with NASCAR's points system and follow the script they write if it means JG wins his 5th championship in his last full season. JG is not fully retiring and will run select events next season and probably for one or two more seasons after 2016. Guess it is time to get my Official JG t-shirt off the hanger for Homestead. My brother and his wife went to Dover this year and bought it for me.
No,,,,but I could offere you this year's version of " Indy Car's Greatest Hits" for your amusement? Care to see what is behind door number 3 ?
Each of the four car's best engine and car is going to be on that hauler, the parts with weeks of machine and oven work, not days. Those four cars are going to be out on their own whether the others move over or not. The #78 may not have the super duper parts in spare, but their best will be on board. When Kyle making the chase depended on it, he won 5 of 6 races, JGR opened the "use in time of need" parts bin for him. It will be open again for him for this final race. Hendricks special parts bin, Gordan, Harvick will have SHR's, but will probably be #2 on engine parts behind Gordan. Kyle/Gordan will likely be the two strongest in equipment, with the #4 being 3rd, and #78 4th. No one on the grid will be even close.
I believe their engines are leased through ECR (Earnhardt-Childress Racing), not sure about the chassis. For 2016 they will have TRD engines and the chassis will be supplied by JGR (Joe Gibbs Racing). I would be over the moon if MTJ won his first championship, the guy is a class act.
this may actually be the year Toyota gets to win. nascarneeds a compelling reason to help a team get started to replce the mwr team leaving. I am hoping for jg to win just one more.
IIRC, wasn't NASCAR trying to come up with a way to keep Busch out of the "Chase" on some technicality even though he'd won several races after he missed the first part of the season? Wow, someone must have lost the script high above the track today. BHW
Wait....I thought the powers in "Daytoner" behind the "wood paneled walls" were supposed to have the chasers run 1-4 with Gordon getting the championship ??????
I told the people around me there would be a fake caution if the #2 came up on the #78 - all the chase had to be on the lead lap. Bonus if you shake up the field and get the chasers up front. *sigh*, pit in stomach when the interference came out, I echo the emotion that Joe Gibb's displayed. That was frustrating and blatant, and gave Chevy a better chance closing Kyle's gap. Fortuantely for the championship, Brad sacrificed his position, took the inside lane, and gave Kyle the advantage he needed. %$*(%$&* *($$%&*(%$&*(#&*(_$@&($@*(_$&*($@&$@(_&$ @&*(_@&*$*$$@ GRRRRRRRR @ fake yellows
