    Here's the back story:

While working in the HQ building at the Kennedy Space Center I noticed this new poster on the wall in the hallway, third floor I recall. This was last year. So I inquired about it at the graphics department (same building) to see if copies were available. They said "how many do your want" and "We'll email you when they're ready."

The person I spoke to was the one who created this graphic, so I asked him to sign each copy. I thought I ordered 6, but only have three on hand.

The artist also worked on KSC's Spaceport Magazine as part of its Creative Group.

    https://www.nasa.gov/sites/default/files/atoms/files/spaceportmagazine_nov2018.pdf

Other than the copies printed for me, and the one on the wall in the HQ building (they rotate their artwork) I know of no others. And I've never seen them for sale in the KSC gift shops either.

These are great. I got a set of three posters of the shuttles “Going to Work in Space” back in the 80s. Still have two framed and lost track of the third. No idea where I lost it... or maybe it’s still rolled up somewhere. The two are hanging in my office.

There were some folks here at JSC Houston, that were miffed when we only got the "mock up" to display on top of the jet carrier, in the Rocket Yard.

They even managed to hit a bridge in the Ship Channel, IIRC, bringing it in on a barge.

    I told them:
"Well, actually Texas DID get a real one, it starts east of Dallas, and it's scattered all the way to Lufkin!!"

    *rocks thrown, shoes, ...........ducking*

It actually looks fine, perched up there.
Ten out of ten visitors to Space Center Houston don't know the difference.

I drive by most days. It looks great on the back of the plane. I'm told people are kept away from the real ones for safety reasons, but the practice one this is not the case. It all works out.
I remember when they brought it up the street on the closed road and installed, quite an event.

I will. It may be awhile. I got it for my Dad for Father's Day. He was USAF and his last assignment was Embry Riddle in Daytona. He was in the USAF ROTC detachment there. He took many cadets to see shuttle launches, I tagged along once. We were in an alternate mission control they told me they could actually blow the shuttle up from that one. He will love this. It's all wrapped up from the framers next time I see him I will post a pic here.

No rush... great to hear that's it's going to your dad.

I was accepted to ERAU during the late 70s, but it was above my pay scale at the time. :)

I saw Discovery at Udvar-Hazy a few years ago. It was disappointing to hear that they completely stripped out the interior before putting it on display. It would have been interesting to look inside.

I agree. It would be awesome to see an actual Shuttle Orbiter cockpit in person.

Before the program ended, there were two full-scale mock-ups at the Kennedy Space Center (one each at the Visitor's Center and the Astronaut Hall of Fame) where you could "go inside", I recall the latter of the two. They've moved them around and were renamed as well. So it's difficult to keep track...

One is now at Johnson Space Center, but I don't know if a tour inside is still possible.
