Question Rob,if you're still around. Is the MG chopper at the Saunders museum auction ex yours? I seem to remember yours was black.
Simon, I sold mine back into the UK about 3 years . The car I had is a far better car then the one going up for auction Similar to buying a W.O Bentley "grandfathers axe tale" ie new bodies ,new blocks/heads and with the W.Os so many have had a new chassis fitted . Why are you Keen?
Hey Rob! No I'm not,the first time I posted this auction on here..pre CV19 the MG was slated by some knowitall on here as being yours. I said nowt. Hencethe question this time around to your's truly!
Nice to see you back Robbie I tried calling you a couple of months back but it rang out. Hope your health is good and would be great to catch up. Be careful of the virus outbreaks down there JM
Virus outbreaks..............what do you think I hang out with,Indian security guards or courier drivers?
NO, But. one word does not explain ,one needs to look into the mindset of "The beast " Your average MG car club member world wide ...an incredibly boring 62.5 year old ,40 year member of such club. The profile........................The 62.5 year old MG club member will have done F/all in his boring live ,worked one or two meaningless jobs . clerk, bank officer ,teacher ,public servant ,detailer ect ect .They will be dressed wearing a tweed flat cap ,brown corduroy pants ,cheap check shirt and a home knitted green jumper and wearing 5 year old sneakers .Sitting around drinking non brand tea and eating homemade sausage rolls. Having lived in the same grey duplex for 30 years and having only just paid of the mortgage he will be a proud man with income from a small super-fund that is supported by a government pension. The wife will also be sitting at the old laminex covered table talking about her grandchildren and there 1st overseas holiday on some Caribbean cruise owned liner..To other boring MG club members. Neither will have ever achieved in there worthless lives , oh yes he can write ,spell and punctuate a notice in the death column of his local paper about some 40 year old friend that has passed on with a tumour or kidney failure. Neither will have any idea what 'the reverse cowgirl is" or "BJ on the rocks" Just born and waiting to die at 78.3 years. So we have the profile of said car member ,whom drives a TF or a worn out MG B ,yes they would like to own a special MG but will never . My old car and the hatred club members have towards the late Peter Gregory. Peter in his live time built up over 25 K3 MG's ,to begin with one was even and still is regarded a genuine K3 (its not) as is one of the Australian owned K3'! Gregory was hated/loathed in the MG movement by the above little men ,many of his cars were rusted hulks he had collected and then turned into cars of beauty ,valuable cars . The car I owned was the last car he built for his own enjoyment ,sadly he died and I purchased it of his widow. Unknown to many Peter had parted out the car which was a K2 and built around the remains the Mille Miglia copy as per above ,the remains were chassis plate ,front axle,Wilson gearbox, engine block and diff. A new undamaged chassis was constructed as was the body ect . The remains of the car chassis and parts were sold off . The owner of this car claims title to the car ,being in the UK his friends (sic) in the MG registrar granted him usage of said chassis .Unknown to them the correct history and that within a few years this car would also appear as a K3 style MG.And be onsold for 250,000 pounds. So there you have it a classic "grandfathers Axe." It will never happen due to value's .but if both cars were put together you would have the correct car. Image Unavailable, Please Login
