Yep. My driver's seat leather is "wrinkled" on the front pad and on the bolster. Not really cracked. Just wrinkled. So it looks worn (probably because it is). Any face lift technique out there, short of replacing a few pieces of leather? And has anyone taken that road?

I'm having new leather put on my 355 Spider seats and he should be done by the end of the week. I'll post some pictures when I get them back. Mine had some very minor issues and the only way to make it perfect was to go with new leather.

Are you piecing leather in, or recovering entirely? $$ Cost?

I'm doing the whole seats. I'm not sure what the total wil be, but I will post it when I pay the balance and pick up the seats and post some pics. I just told him to make them perfect.
I'm a real perfectionist and have taken the opportunity while my wife is traveling the world for a month to make my interior perfect. I ordered the factory interior carpet as well. I have also taken off every interior piece and repainted all of the screws and conditioned the leather with Leatherique.

I love Leatherique, you should at a minimum do that on your seats.

FOA just got back a set of 348 seats that he did for the silver one in the showroom. They look incredible. I hope mine turn out as good as those.

Get a can of "Leather food" from a good furniture shop. Don't use the stuff from the auto parts stores as it's not the same generally.

Leather food usually comes in a tin can and is similar to a thick skin cream in texture. Apply this with a soft cloth liberally and let it sink in for a couple of hours. Keep doing it repeatedly for upto 10 applications until the leather is soft and supple again.

This should help with the wrinkles and will stop the wear and even the color.
You can re dye the area but it will not be original as the stitching will take the dye color also.

    Hope this helps.

Even very early publicity photos of the 348 show wrinkled seats. They probably got wrinkled the first time someone sat on them. Not very impressive.

Try to use the Griot's garage leather conditioner. It is a spooge like liquid that seems to puff up the wrinkles and clean them out really well too. Smells like a saddle. Available for $15 plus shipping here:

Alden did a fantastic job on my 308QV seats. He does alot of the Louisiana Ferrari club seats and interiors. My seats were in extremely poor condition when I sent them in and came back looking like brand new seats. He replaced some leather and reconditiond what he could. Absolutely a magician with leather.

Cost.... $500 per seat back in 04

Yeah baby! I was hoping someone would catch my eloquent prose.... If you don't understand, think like when you were 14. Consider alternates to spooge - love juice, warm yogurt, ejaculate, seminal fluid....
