The car's had two owners. I have the original warranty and service papers from the first owner (a professor in Milan). The car was bought by a US citizen who was living in Milan and then imported in the mid-1980s. He drove it about 20k kilomoters in the past twenty years and stored it in the winters and serviced it much and kept records. All for the good. It's a 1973 serial number 17385. It needs new rear shocks and to be driven.

It's amazing how these cars shake off the years when they are driven regularly. I've never had one that did it to the extent these do. A microcosm of the experience is driving the car around town at pokey speeds and then exercising it for 20 or 30 miles on the highway.

I'd be happy to help however I can with the restoration. The car appears to be original, including the rear shocks for the next couple of weeks. Insofar as comparisons to other cars goes, I have a 328, a 456 and a 412. When I bought this (and the 412) I sort of figured that I'd own them for a year or two and then let something go half figuring it would be this one, as I have by far the least invested in it. Having driven it three or four times now, I'm not so sure. I've driven several c4s and I have to say the driving experience is the same with the possible expection of this car seeming a little stronger (I don't think that's true to the models generally but that the c4s I drove weren't that well taken care of). The sound is better than any other car I own and the thing has surprising grunt. There's nothing fragile about this thing. Stainless steel trim. Super soft hides everywhere. I'm beginning to think that the 456 may be the one to go, though it took me forever to find a clean one that was the right color and with everything done.

What a find. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the 365 GT 2+2 the rarest Ferrari of them all, with only 12 made? I know the rarest is a member of the 365 series, but is it this one?

The 365 gt4 is fairly rare but I think it was closer to 200 that were made. But many have been chopped up. I don't recall who asked, but yes teh car was in Hemmings.

Mine is included in the list of 521. Another Fchatter owns the car from the brochure.
