Well the best product placement of all time (Magnum, PI) has had me dreaming of a Ferrari my whole life. I promised myself someday I would own one. For my 40th birthday this year that dream came true!!

With a short deadline to get a car in time, and not having the forethought to order one a while back, I started contacting several dealers.

The range of dealer responses to a potential buyer were truly amazing. Some were downright rude. Others totally dismissive.

After narrowing the field I was lucky enough to get a return call from what I think is the best salesman I've ever dealt with when buying a car (and this is not my first car by far). He told me that they had one I could test drive and then buy if I was interested.

While I liked it...I just wasn't totally sold on the color (Pozzi/Cuoio) and it was very heavily optioned.

I stayed in close contact with the salesman and he got me an excellent car and delivered it in person on my birthday.

Normally I wouldn't ever dream of speaking so highly of a salesman but if anyone is in the market for a car I can't recommend someone more. His name is Larry Stayton of Miller Motor Cars in CT. Truly a stand up gentleman.

Now back to the car. I'm truly amazed at the leap in technology. I never dreamed that my Porsche Turbo (2007) would feel like a blunt, analog instrument but that's how great this 458 is.

Even my Bentley's tranny feels like it was made in the 1920s in comparison.

I haven't put a load of mile on the car yet but I intend to.

This is the first car I've ever owned where the electronics are so complicated you need a degree from MIT though. I'm sure in time it will all make sense but I can't for the life of me understand why they would keep old fashioned temperature controls but make you contact nasa in order to play a song on the radio!

    The car is:

    Nero/Cuoio
    AFS System
    Yellow Calipers
Carbon Fiber Driver Zone + LEDs
    Carbon Fiber Lower Cabin Zone
    Colored seat belts
    Central Tunnel in leather
    Carbon Fiber Dashboard inserts
    Daytona seats with full electrics
Front suspension lift (this is excellent)
    Ipod
    Shields
    Sat Nav/Bluetooth
Parking camera (a total must!! It's great)
    Parking sensors
    Sport Sills
    Hifi stereo

So, yes, that's a lot of options and most of them I likely would not have ordered but I'm very glad to have them!

The car looks and sounds amazing. It feels like it just glides through the wind. It's hard to describe...other cars I have force the wind into submission while this one slices it like a hot knife through butter.

I guess this is long winded enough...I'll be happy to rambe on more if anyone wants me to!

Beautiful car. Congratulations. I am also looking for an Italia as a birthday present to myself - only I'll be 60. My son graduated college this past May and works in Greenwich. I asked him to stop into Miller's and get some information for me this weekend. I'll have him ask for Larry. Again congratulations and drive it in good health.
