Went out to the garage this morning and found a huge puddle of gear oil coming out from under the rear of my car. Had it towed off to the dealer. Hope only a loose hose

Fingers crossed for you. Do you have lift in your car? If you do, it could also be the lift pump leaking (unless it really is gear oil vs hyd fluid)

I didn't even think of that. I do have a lift and the oil wasn't very thick. Waiting to hear from dealer

Mine had a gasket in the gear box fail right after it was replaced. Trivial fix despite the shock of seeing oil out of the back of the car.

My guess is that the either the lift pump is leaking or DTC transmission is leaking and will require the middle case to be replaced in order to replace the seal.
There isn't much else in the rear of the car that has oil in it.
    Sorry

The lift system uses Shell Spirax S4, which is basically synthetic ATF (red in color). The gearbox lubricant and gearbox ATF oils are both amber in color.
There is no fluid in any Ferrari from the factory that is purple, unless you are using Royal Purple lubricants.

Transmission needs an Intermediate plate assembly. Waiting to see if Ferrari will cover under powertrain warranty

What’s that cost if they don’t cover it?
