I finally was able to get some videos of my exhaust setup! Fabpeed Racing Headers Novitec Test Pipes Novitec Race exhaust Enjoy and sorry for the bad quality! My friend filmed it on her iPhone! Just turn up the volume and listen to that F1 music! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dt0qdJz75uA https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9yXz4sDQPd0
Wow, this sounds like orgasm. Did you do anything to the engine or just the exhaust? Was the installation complicated? How bout the factory warranty?
WOW!!! That sounds absolutely amazing. Fabspeed headers apparently compliment the Novitec exhaust perfectly. Sounds like a sport bike!
I did the EvoMSit tune and BMC Filters as well. Installation was done by GT Autoconcepts in San Carlos, Ca. I don't think it was too complicated. As for factory warranty, it depends on how cool your dealership is. My service manager thinks this is the most badass car he's heard and seen lol!! Total with software and installation around 18k. And yes the headers give you a noticeable gain Yes! The Fabspeed headers added the most power and smoothed the sound out to this perfect pitch!
Well, the headers alone are good for +30hp and +34 ft.lbs. Despite what everyone thinks, there is SIGNIFICANT performance to be had on the 458 platform. I wouldn't be the least surprised if he picked up over +50 hp with the whole set up.
Yes I would say about that. Very noticeable all the way through the rev range! Loud as hell! hahah but in a very good way
fantastic John what a beast LOL!!! ps I just put the innotech f1 headers in and the car sounds great (more high pitched sound) and fuller and louder engine sound when standing outside of the car I am having gmg racing build some sport cats for me that do not require an ecu retune and are guaranteed not to throw a CEL light
I think your car now is louder than 2014's F1. LOL I take note of the store, my warranty expires next year.
Is it wrong to not care if it improves power by a single horse? That is amazing. Is it valved at all to tone it down if needed? You may not be able to comment on this if everything was done in one fell swoop, but maybe you heard other cars with other pieces individually before putting together your recipe. Which piece (exhaust, test pipe, headers) do you think contributed most to changing the character (not volume) of the sound from stock to your current F1 scream?
Disagree: I have the innotech f1 headers coupled with stock cats and oem sport exhaust and although the sound is higher pitched and performance is improved i still don't have the signature extreme f1 scream that is obtained when removing the cats from the 458. Only removing the cats and installing straight pipes will give the ultimate f1 sound. I have, however opted not to remove the cats (for now ) because i don't want to adulterate the car too much: without mentioning the various emission issues, removing the cats requires an aftermarket retune of the ecu not to get a CEL light, slightly lowers low-end torque and I am told from reputable sources that there might always be the possibility of getting CEL lights after long periods of use even with the ecu retune: a bit too much of a gamble imho for that sound. As a compromise, I am having gmg racing build me some high performance flow cats which do not require an ecu retune or throw a CEL light. Last but not least, I have experienced a catless 458 first hand and imho the catless sound, although dramatic, lacks a bit of refinement; it gives me the impression the car has too obviously been tinkered with.. too many choices; life is hard! best
You would need an ecu re-tune with the higher rate of gas flow and lower back pressure to really harness the gains to be had. But yes, a CEL light after an ecu tune is pretty lame.
Yes; also a CEL light appearing after spending almost 15-20K USD would really upset me, i prefer playing it safe..
