Dan, enjoy the rest of the year... driving it! The only reason I suggested sway bars is for the American car world. When one decides to 'tighten' up, upgrade, an American car with a tougher sway bar(s)... if he tightens it up without the car's weight on it (ride height), the car WILL ride HIGH!
Anyway, hope to see you out enjoying your excellent work!
    best,
    Sandy

I did buy the correct rear shock absorber to lower the car but

    - There is only 1.5 months of driving left up here before winter

    - I need to have the front shocks rebuilt anyways

    - I have to have the wheels re-aligned once again when I modify the ride height

I have decided to keep driving it the way it is for the remainder of the season and will take care of everything in the spring...

Yeah... my bad... I lost my card reader a while back along with my SD card... on that card were the pics of the final few days progress (including the engine bay) and still haven't found it... now I would have to clean it up again to do it justice.

Getting ready to put it away for the winter too... this is possibly the final weekend before I put it away.

Wonderful thread, just doing the same to my 348.

How did you get on with the exhaust manifolds not having there tin shields on them? Have you had issues with heat effecting components’?
    Again inspiring stuff

Actually I did have a failure of the alternator but I'm not convinced it was solely due to the heat... I believe the components in the alternator were inferior (at least according to the shop that examined it)... luckily I had the original alternator available so I swapped it and I was able to drive the car the rest of the summer...

Be sure to post pics of your progress...

Ahh yes, one of my favorite threads... sorry I didn't recognize the username... you're doing a fantastic job on your 348... can't wait to see the final product. As for me, I will start work on mine in 2 weeks or so... finish/fix the things I didn't have time to fix last year...

    Hey Mike,

I finally did find it... damn it!!! It's a Ferrari part (part# 146611)... I was convinced it was an aftermarket part so that contributed to the delay in finding it. I know you don't have your 348 anymore but just in case you buy another one, you'll know what to look for. See #23 in diag below... even shows you where they hide it.

    Dan,

Another question.... did you just unplug it, and that's it? No effect on the car at all?

It took three tries... first I thought it was part of the speedometer so I took the whole instrument cluster off and went for a spin... buzzer still there. Next I took the center console components off and went for another spin as the sound seemed to echo from that area.. buzzer not part of the center gauges. Finally, I had my buddy drive the car while I was head first in the passenger footwell going 120km/h down the hwy... not very safe I know, but I was able to pinpoint it behind the side panel... had a screwdriver with me so I removed the panel to confirm... and there it was.
