I took delivery of my 2025 Roma Spider on February 8, 2025. It was a long wait. I placed my initial deposit back in June 2023, then flew to Maranello to spec my car with Atelier in October 2023. In January 2024, I received the renders from Atelier Maranello along with the pricing sheet, and my order was locked a week later. The car arrived at the port in Newark, NJ just over a year later, and I took deliver 2 weeks afterwards.

One of my friends accompanied me to the delivery. He took photos while my sales rep went over the car with me. It started snowing while my sales rep was going over the controls and setting up Apple CarPlay so as soon as he was done, I drove straight to my other friend's detailing shop five miles away to drop off my car to get full PPF applied along with some other cosmetic work (paint the lower trim gloss black and remove the Federally mandated "bumerettes", etc.).

Anyway, here she is. Azzurro Monaco over Carta Da Zucchero/Grigio Corvara. It was snowing so we weren't able to take good photos of the interior but I'll upload a couple of renders from Atelier in a follow-up post.

It is still cold and snowy here in Northern Virginia so I told my friend to take his time with the car. He told me she should be fully protected (PPF, ceramic coating, Scrape Armour, etc.) and painted by the end of March. I am excited to take her on a proper drive!

    Beautiful! Congrats!

Please send pics of the painted lowers once completed. I am curious to see how it turns out as I was contemplating doing this myself after the fact (as factory PPE option required also selecting at least one carbon bit, which made no sense to me/dealer).

As someone who took delivery early Jan, let me tell you it's difficult to have the car sitting in your garage all winter without being able to drive it, so perhaps you have a mixed blessing with it at your detailer for the next few weeks. I am allowing myself one cold start a week in the garage in the meantime!

Just saw a Roma convertible, with the top down, in Naples FL. Nice looking car. Enjoy.

Of course! I already have a few guys wanting to do a photo shoot with the car as soon as she's done. I'm friends with a few of the car spotters from the local cars and coffee meetups so I get free photos. :)

I was disappointed Ferrari didn't offer gloss black for the lower trim as an option. I asked Atelier about it and they told me they could do it but they don't have pricing available since it is a special request. In my opinion, the satin painted trim doesn't look "premium" for a high end car -- especially when you see that the rear deck lid spoiler comes painted gloss black.

Anyway, there was a Rosso Corsa F8 Tributo with the lower trim painted gloss black at my friend's shop when I dropped my car off. That's what got me to pull the trigger on painting my car. Plus, I really don't like the US bumperettes protruding from the rear bumper so we'll take those out before painting. We did that for my old Aston Martin Vantage. It wasn't an easy job since we had to plastic weld the holes on the bumper cover after the bumperettes were removed, but I think it was worth it.

The car is actually up the road with Adrian at GlasWerks. I drove straight to the shop after picking her up. She'll hopefully be done in time for Ferrari of Washington's cars and coffee season opener.

gorgeous exterior. I am in the same boat with the black plastic. would be interested to hear how the painting turns out and where the glossy black paint is sourced.

The paint shop will probably just go with a standard PPG gloss black paint. Really nothing special. We'll apply STEK clear glossy paint protection film on it after painting.

ah, okay. I asked the ppf installer about covering the plastic parts with a glossy film but was told that it wouldn't stick to the plastic. the PPG gloss paint must provide a surface for adhering, correct? Can the rear spoiler also be painted/covered?

In 2024 the factory added the option to paint the trim in several black and grey finishes, including a glossy black (This was likely after your Atelier order was confirmed). But it was done haphazardly (IMO) and not communicated well.

After I read about it on this forum and inquired to my dealer they requested info on it. For some reason in order to do it you had to spec some exterior piece in carbon fiber. Made no sense so we passed on it. Perhaps it was a glitch in the roll out and since corrected.

I actually had it as an option on the configuration. price was $15k. looked really good. a couple of months later the option disappeared from the configurator and was only available by optioning carbon fiber first, which was then painted like you said. it still isn't clear to me why they removed the option. 15k for painting plastic seems like a profitable option for the factory, but maybe there were issues from a manufacturing perspective.

That's correct. I was just going to have my buddy just apply ceramic coating on the lower trim pieces until I saw an F8 Tributo with the gloss black painted trim in his shop. I liked the look so I decided to paint mine too -- with the added benefit of being able to apply PPF once it is done.

My "theory" is that it had nothing to do with the actual production process of painting the standard plastic vs painting carbon fiber but was just a money grab.

Same as you have to spec and pay for the carbon fiber LED steering wheel and paddles ($5,214) if what you really want to get is the leather wheel with the LEDs (another $869 on top of the $5,214) and still have the paddles in aluminum. I know because I did this. :)

I state this as when I tried to add PPE1 to my spec my dealer said MODIS required that two exterior trim pieces be specced in CF in order to add PPE1. But it did not require ALL exterior trim pieces to be specced in CF. If the CF was required to actually get the paint to stick/"work", they would make you spec every exterior trim piece in CF, right?

What you are both stating is consistent with my experience. I asked to have the base trim PPF'd and they said it wouldn't stick.

that is really interesting. Had I known that I could spec the rear and front spoilers in CF to get the sill cover painted gloss black I may have done it. my understanding was that you had to spec all CF and then pay another 15K to paint the CF.

I painted all my lower plastic trim in gloss black as well. The difference it makes is huge visually. Although more prep work has to be done to the front spoiler as it is coarser than the other bits.

Did you remove the "bumperettes" when you painted the rear bumper? I wonder how involved that would be.

Personalized plates for my Azzurro Monaco Roma Spider: NO ROSSO (Corsa).

According to Google, about 40% of new Ferraris are ordered in red -- down from about 85% in the early '90s.
