We are driving along in my Tahoe this past weekend as a rider on a brand new R6 passes us from the other direction. She says to me "honey, you see how big he looks on that bike? That's how you look on your bike. You need a bigger bike." Oh really?!?!?!?

    Here's the deal; I love the new R1, but after having gotten an insurance quote, it is out of the question. So I am thinking maybe a cruiser, something my wife would enjoy riding along with me on. Models I like are;
    Harley V-Rod
    Harley Fat Boy
    Moto Guzzi California
    Yamaha Road Star Warrior

Anybody have comments, suggestions, any words of advice?????

Kawasaki ZX-10R is looking pretty good.

If it must be a cruiser, how about a V-Max?

I think insurance for Harleys is high in general also, although obviously not for performance.

Definitely ride the Road Warrior before purchasing. A friend has one and says it is very uncomfortable. If you like sportbikes all of those bikes you mentioned will feel like trucks.

    How about
    Honda CBR1100XX
    Kawasaki ZX-12 or ZZR1200
    Triumph 955 Daytona
    Yamaha FJR1300
    Honda ST1300

All are physically bigger than the new Jap literbikes

    Total words of wisdom!

If you want the wife on a ST1100 or ST1300 might be the best choice.

I would quit riding before riding a cruiser but thats just me.

What KIND of insurance {colision, or liability} what kind of purchase {buy, lease, loan} and how much money do you have left over to buy leathers, helmet, gloves, boots?
