It was exactly what I wanted for the purpose required but I didn't go ahead with the project. Matching numbers ,original everything and everything needed to enter the car in 'standard' category TT. Rust in the rear guards, crappy interior plastic and carpets, great electrics and steering/suspension. My customer had been running it as a daily driver for about 10 years. You would now pay at least $10/15K for the same thing now.
Thinking at the time a good one was $10k and the one I had needed that spent on it. Was 2002 I think. Sent from my iPad using FerrariChat

Love the GT Stripe. However, it needs a cover/s over the seat mechanism/s and surfboards on the roof.
I had one of those little Hondas and still have the manual (one of 10 printed in English at my request) I rebuilt the engine with my dad's help back in the 70's, roller bearing crankcase, carby per cylinder, 9500 red line, chains to the rear wheels , the engine was basically half of the Honda F1 engine at the time (literally !!)
The clue was my dad helping !!!! It ran like a dream after I blew it up going down Mt Ousely (?) and hitting the wrong gear and the rev needle bouncing off the 12000 rpm stop which necessitated the rebuild by dad My dad was a classic at rebuilding cars, he would NEVER buy a special tool when a hammer and chisel would get it off We did put new ones back on but it was funny watching it at the time
Fuch me that torch story is getting out of hand .... it was Horse's torch that he forgot to get out from under the old battery after he put it back in ..... or so the story goes
Am I the only person here who has a problem calling a Toyota Crown or Celica "classic"? They're just old cars that have survived, they were nothing special at all when new. It's just as bad as the poms calling various examples of their awful cars "classic".
The twin cam Celica is special, they were never sold here new. Don't you remember Williamson at Bathurst?
