There are 10 275GTS/NARTS. Two are owned by a guy in NC IIRC. Last I knew the other 8 were scattered about. I am very dubious about 3 in one collection, let alone in Denver. Perhaps they are cut 275 GTBs.

I think he meant there are two 275 GTBs and one NART. Earlier he said, "I know there is a collection in denver that has a couple 275 GTB/4 and a 275 GTS/4 Nart Spyder." Then he said "all 3 owned by one guy" which you took to mean all three NART cars - but I believe he meant the two 275 GTBs and one NART, as he had mentioned before.

Speaking of local 275 GTBs, we all remember this one from the June 2008 Concours...

My interpretation was that there was only one NART spyder in the collection. But, which one? Here they are, all 10 of them...

    http://www.barchetta.cc/All.Ferraris/by-serial-number/ferrari-by-serial-number/model-index-60-64/model-summary/275-gtb-4s-n.a.r.t.spyder-index/index.html

It may well be a real NART spyder, as some of the ownership histories haven't been updated in a while. But, there are just 4 or 5 red ones (unless repainted), and, of those there's only one that I'd argue isn't well-known (10249). Otherwise, of the red NARTs, you've got Jaeger's in OH (10139), Lauren's in NY (10219), Smith's in NC (10709) and Laidlaw's in UK (11057).

So, possible, but more likely that it's a cut car.

For one, I am a her. Second, never said all three were Narts, just one. The owner certainly can afford the cars, as he has many more. Including in his collection, 1965 Shelby Racing school car, a 1965 Shelby GT350R, as well as many other shelbys, a 246 dino, 360 modena, a maranello, and bunch more cars.

I came on here to help share information, instead, I feel like I am being attacked, maybe this is why most of the collectors stay off of forums, because when someone shares something, you have to immediately question or doubt. Just food for thought.

First off, welcome to you and congratulations to the owner, if indeed it's one of the 10. That IS a special car.

Second, you shouldn't feel "attacked", but when you make a statement about a car as significant as a NART spyder, you can understand that there is interest. To be honest, a NART spyder is in an entirely different league, price-wise, than any of the cars you mentioned. Could it be one of the 10? Sure. But, you have to accept that the other cars add up to less than, perhaps, 1/5th of the value of a true NART spyder. Again, it's certainly possible that it is legitimate and quietly owned, and that's not a problem. Just trying to establish whether it is legitimate. While of some interest, in general, I really don't care WHO owns it. This is, however, also a "hunt" for information and clarification.

Third, "collectors" as you put them, may have more important things to do with their time than post here. Their choice. After all, they have to figure out how to earn enough to pay for these things. However, there also are collectors on here.

Fourth, do you have ANY idea of how many fraudulent cars and sightings are reported? This is a Ferrari-centric car forum, and it's pretty difficult to hide the fact that there's a very expensive and very rare car hidden away that noone has seen but you. It may, in fact, be so, but you also have to understand that a LOT of people post things that may not be true. After all, this IS the Internet, and, no offense, but you have a total of 6 posts. Forgive me, but you don't yet have a long and established track record here. Yes, owners may be private and wish not to disclose what they own, and that's their prerogative.

Finally, there is a service, if you will, that's provided by these forums. Information is made available. That is a good thing if someone one day attempts to sell this car. Is it or isn't it a real car? See the case of the 312PB (0872) for sale in Denver. People keep track of these cars because some people have been sold a false bill of goods. It doesn't matter to me one way or the other if this car resides locally. However, if someone is portraying this car as a true NART spyder, then I hope it is. On the other hand, it is speculated that it could be a "cut" car. This can only be answered by the s/n, I suppose, but, regardless of what it is, it's an interesting find. I doubt we'll learn more, and that's ok. But, I certainly hope to see it up here in the mountains this summer.

Here's another one worth mentioning, a 410 Sport Scagleitti Spider. It's at a Shelby museum outside Boulder. I've been wanting to get over there to check the place out one day, it looks interesting.

The yellow NART which was the first one made, aluminuym bodied, raced by Denise McLuggage and used in the original "Thomas Crown Affair" although it was red in the movie sold for just under 4M.

Here is a pic of it in Salida 1998.

It is speculated that the mystery NART could be 10219. The owner does have a ranch in CO. However, the last I heard of 10219, it was back East in the Hamptons.

The 288 GTO may be too new for some of you to be a classic and it hasn’t reached the million dollar mark but no doubt, next to the F40, it’s one of the most important models of the last 25 years.

Once owned by a local owner but sold a few years ago.

Mike Dopudja told me stories of driving a NART on the Grand (he was one of the founders) with the chief of the state patrol at the time. He didn't mention it was a conversion. I started going to his shop late in 1996 and never saw the car there. Don't know if it was a Colorado car either.

That GTO participated in a Ferrari Club/RMR run a few years ago, Bandimere Speedway to Palmer Lake. Only 288 GTO I've seen in person!

Met the owner but didn't get to chat with him much.

I heard a rumor that he bought the garage where Mike's Performance shop used to be housed, and put the GTO in there for a while, then sold it.

Without getting into the specifics of ownership, does anyone know if it's still in Colorado?

The owner had bought it from Bruce Lustman whose collection was housed in Mike's building but then bought Mike out. Lustman also owned the 275NART, the Coburn Cali, the first TDF among other great cars. Last I heard, he had sold off about everything. Mike is now working in Mesa, AZ. We had a couple of meals with him and his wife Luramay while down there in April. I have forgotten the name of the 288 owner but it will come to me.

Actually, I believe that the aforementioned FCA/RMR drive happened when Bruce owned it. (I'm not sure, but the name Bruce sounds familiar now.)

OK. I reread your post and that makes sense, but Lustman did sell it to a Colorado owner.
