one of the aspects of IROC I liked, everyone using the same spec car. Yes, yes, no two cars are exactly the same, but it did level the playing field and make for a better "who's the better driver?" argument.......

You're a BMW-Sauber fan and you want your best driver (JV) so far, out?

I haven't expected too much from the team this season. I don't even expect much next year. After 3 years, I'll see how they do, but for now, I'll just root for any points. This is similar to franchise teams in other sports. I.e. last year with the addition of the Charlotte Bobcats in the NBA. Their first year and now their second were just to get positioned for some real play. After some player acquisitions and new management sort things out, they can be taken as a serious competitor.

I think the #2 McLaren driver will be Hamilton. De la Rosa or Paffet maybe..

    Okay.

I just found it weird that you said JV.
Jacques is doing a great job for BMW. He's is driving the hell out of the car and he's pushing for improvements (ultra solf tyres he asked for)

Hans-Joachim Stuck has advised BMW-Sauber to stick with Jacques Villeneuve for the 2007 season.''I believe he is an important part of the team, he said.'' (Credit Suisse 'emagazine')

But he SHOULD be a player THIS year, and he's not even in the game, and I don't think it's all a car problem.

I know this guy named IDE looking for a ride next season....

JPN didn't help Ron to get CC. I think JPM just gives up if he can't fight for the win.

I guess I'm in the minority but I still think he's probably the 4th fastest guy out there on pure talent, behind MS, FA and KR. He doesn't always get the results he should, but that's also true of Fisi and Button, to name just two.

Right now I think that is true. Next year he'll drop to 5th or 6th with Kovalainen coming on board and Nico gathering experience. Unless MS retires at which point he moves one step back up. :)

rumor i heard from some f1 insiders was that torro rosso was talking to jpm. but wud not be surprised if he goes to renault.

kimi has signed a deal with ferrari which allows them to book him at $20mil IF he leaves mclaren. ferrari paid $5 mil for that. so if he doesnt leave, then ferrari stay with their present team.

it could end up just being a simple alonso for jpm swap.

I'm going way out on a limb here - if Montoya and Alonso swap seats, I'm betting Montoya scores more points next year than Alonso.

I don't think you'd be going on a limb. With today's knowledge it looks as if Alonso made a big mistake and JPM would get the much longer end of the stick.

2 or 3 weeks ago Berger said he's not interested in JPM.

    He said:
"If you cannot lay hands on a Michael Schumacher, Alonso or Raikkonen, then you must have some of the five young drivers of tomorrow, and Montoya is not among them in my opinion," said Berger.

"Those five, without order, are Kovalainen, Rosberg, Kubica, Liuzzi and Speed"

Ide? Ide Amin? He is still alive? Wasn't that the crazy dictator of Uganda that ate people too? He is way to big to fit in an F1 car. Look:

With all the $ he has, and (probably) a job waiting for him at another F1 team in need of a new driver, I don't think that it would suck to be him right now.
