Rob, I'll be at Casa Ferrari and my 16M will be on the lawn, I imagine very close to your 355. I'll look out for you there.

In past years I have found parking close to Casa Ferrari and walked the rest of the way.

I have credentials for Casa Ferrari, but I'm wondering what is required for the public?

Saturday can anyone walk around the cars, just the reception area requires credentials?

Sunday is a Pebble ticket required to walk around the cars 1st Fairway?

$2,200 a ticket and a hard to get ticket, waiting list goes to repeat entrants first. However, I believe that there will be no shows and extra tickets available last minute like Quail.

<<ahhh, so even Sunday you can get into Casa cars with no ticket. thanks!>>

Up until this year, that was the case. The people at the 17 mile drive gates were refusing entrance to anyone who could not produce a concours d'elegance ticket on Sunday.

Saturday was free and unfettered entry to see Retro, the classic car forums, the Ferrari corral, etc.

Not the case on Sunday this year (resulting in lots of upset car lovers making u-turns away from the gates)

oh wow, didn't know that. we took an Uber in and could have produced tickets if they asked, but they just waved the Uber driver in. now when the Uber driver dropped us off at the Lodge we got yelled at. we didn't see any signs and when the cop yelled at me I got pretty stern with him that we didn't have a clue, that's just where the Uber drive took us and no instructions otherwise.

On the Sunday (Pebble Beach Concours) 17-mile-Drive has always been closed to regular tourists and simple visitors. Everybody needs a Gate Pass.
In the week before already there are very clear signs hanging at all three entrances. Just read and comprehend.

PS: Sunday morning 6 am I got stopped by two "charming" Monterey police officers on their motorbikes while I was "cruising" on 17-mile-drive towards The Lodge. I had obviously regarded a yellow line as pure decoration in the still dark forest and they said that I drove 50 in a 25 mile zone. OK, why not? I apologized, of course, and they let me go within 20 seconds (possibly because they were unable to understand my Swiss drivers license?).

the cops were a little jumpy, early like you they yelled at me and the Uber driver for getting dropped off by Casa Ferrari. hardly any other traffic in sight yet, so the "dozens" of officers surrounded the car, called in a helicopter, and we had a few red dots from snipers on our foreheads. I understood, within a little it was going to get really really crazy and they were still a little bored.

seriously though, anyone else notice the snipers on top of RM Sotheby's?

As long as I’ve been going (since mid ‘90s), there has always been a fairly strong presence of (private & public) security around Monterey peninsula during the car week and given the ever growing incidents of violence, i.e. mass shootings, terrorism, etc, + large presence of very well heeled and/or otherwise “important” individuals from around the globe attending various events, it shouldn’t be surprising.

On couple of occasions years ago, I used to casually play “How many personal security details can I spot Sunday on the 18th fairway (or other events) ?” (Numbers were interesting, to say the least).

While I've never been to Cavallino, I'd imagine proportionally similar measures are employed there too.

Most of you folks have no idea how idiotic people get, especially those with hypercars, during Car Week. The speed limit within Del Monte Forest, aka Pebble Beach, is 25mph although most people including residents go more like 35mph.

On that Sun morning I heard some idiot blow by on the street behind me...had to be going at least 50-60 based on the sound of the quick upshifts. Within about 3min I heard all sorts of sirens (police, fire engines, ambulance) follow in the same travel direction. It's lucky no one was killed by this moron. The coverage in the local paper reported that the police estimated the driver was traveling at least 70mph.
