Another dust collector like the ones that have been for sale on eBay for over a year...
So it sold on BaT in August, 2018 for $81,000 +5% commission. I wonder what they are asking for it now? https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1989-ferrari-mondial-t-cabriolet-3/ https://canepa.com/new-canepa-inventory-1989-ferrari-mondial-t-cabriolet/ Are the flippers scrambing to get out of the pool before the music stops?
Outside of these couple of anamolies, was the music ever really playing? Speculation at it's finest. I thought at those prices these cars were going to end users to love and cherish.
I love it!! Fantastic color combo; possibly my favorite!! Hope it does really well. I’m going to set the over/under at 36, what does everybody else think. It will be interesting to see what it brings on eBay compared to all the Mondi’s we seen on BAT. Temple
Beautiful car! It was listed several times on eBay for $48,500. Like Temple, I think that it'll be in the 30s, but I'm thinking $32Kish. BaT may actually be a MUCH better venue for the car. 2cam
I saw a slight 'bump' last 5 years, but nothing like what other f-cars experienced, like the 308 GT4 (and 365/400/412)
Wow!! That low Stehane? Such a great color combo, and an obviously well-cared for and “loved” example. Honestly I think Mike’s est. of 32 is much more realistic than mine (36k), but I certainly expect it to get into the 30’s if only because of the color-combo. And such a “loved” example; it really SHOULD hit mid-30’s. Of course that doesn’t mean it will. Just my opinion but this example will tell us a lot about the love, or lack thereof, for the Mondi. I like a red interior as much as anyone, but I don't think gray will ever be considered "re-sale gray." I guess it is less common.
Hmmm. I'd be interested to hear your perspective on this Stephane. I'm probably one of the more pessimistic people here on the forum regarding Mondial prices, but that estimate is lower than I would predict for the car. Is there something about this specific car that detracts from its value or are you referring to the current market for Mondials in general? Exactly!
Looks nice. I installed a Pioneer deck, it was like $60 - No CD, just bluetooth link to phone. Crazy how cheap these things have become.
I think he is referring to the current Mondial market in general- just my guess. And if there is one person who has a “feel” for the Mondial market...... And I don’t think you are a pessimist at all re the Mondial “market”; I think 32 is a very fair number. Although I think this particular example is “worth” 36k all day long, even 40, I think 32k is a lot more realistic/responsible number. And such a perfect car for BAT- I would LOVE to see the comments!! If the Mondial was not polarizing enough, how about a grey/red Mondial?? Lol Temple
The car is advertised on Forza as well - https://www.forza-mag.com/classifieds/1732#.XLlIclVKipo . It appears to have had a recent respray and an engine out service in 2015 without a ton of miles on it since then. Combine those two items with a new clutch assembly, AC, and a host of other recent repairs, and I can see why the seller has been trying to get in the high 40s for it. It'll be interesting to see the final number on eBay. 2cam
I just think the market isn't there yet, if it was red I would agree with the $32-$36K values, but I am going to stick with my estimate.
That gray car is stunning and worth a premium based on condition. Here is a bottom feeder example that probably needs tens of thousand of dollars in work. https://www.beverlyhillscarclub.com/1982-ferrari-mondial-coupe-c-9551.htm
Here's the VIN (ZFFAD08AXC0038881) and ebay ad: https://www.ebay.com/itm/1982-Ferrari-Mondial-Coupe/223356693574 Odd place to put the third brake light. The black 3.2 Coupe I owned had this light added to meet importation requirements, but in the same location as the Cabs. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Interesting. Auction was pulled a few hours before it ended. Always a smelly situation, specially after several attempts to sell. Usually if a car is this good it sells the first time around. Ask me how I know. LOL.
I'm thinking that it probably sold. There had been an ad for it as well on the Orange County CL and it is now gone as well. It looked like a really cool car. 2cam
