i just had new tires put on that closly match the factory TRX sizing. i went with 245 on all corners. now the question is, how wide can you go in the rear before it becomes to big that the handeling is affected? i figured that having the same size all around would keep the handeling nuetral if not a little prone to oversteer. but would going to a 265/285 rear setup cause it to understeer or would it help keep the rear glued?

i have only had the car a week and so far the handeling is great, haven't pushed it too hard yet. my M3 is set up for oversteer so i'm familar with the rear steer approach, lots of fun at the track.

I have tried the 225-16 front & 245-16 rear and liked the feel. However, now I have a 225-18 front & 265-18 rear. No clearance issues, and the car feels super. I think a 275-18 would be as much as I would ever want in back... I just prefer the 265 look & perfect overall diameter.

I would bet a 245 up front is a whole heck of a lot of tire. Gotta photo?

I think the earlier Mondials came from the factory with 240's all around and the later cars (3.2 and t I think) have 220/55's up front and 240/55's in the rear -- I assume there must have been some suspension tweak to compensate for the non-uniform tire size, so it may be that what works best for the earlier cars is different than what works for the later cars. The owners manual for my 86 shows 220/240 for the TRX and 205/55 (front) and 225/55 (rear) for 16" wheels -- not sure why the TRX/16" widths are so different for the same car.
