T or F : All Mondial t come from the factory with black front and rear valences and lower trim and mirrors? Matching body color -- esp. mirrors -- is after market?

True. Exception; only the black ones were monochromatic. ;)

True! Gloss black body over satin lower trim is pretty good looking, I must say.
    Thanks!

    Understated power+elegance.
You'll forgive me if I find the SF shields a ... distraction.

Black is awesome on most cars with well designed bodies with interesting, art-like lines.

But keeping them looking good is another matter.

I refuse to drive my black Jag if there is any chance of rain because it means going over the entire car carefully with detail spray or spray wax when I get her back in the garage. I looked for my Jag (and my Mondial too) for three years until I found "the one." Unfortunately "the one" was Jag's version of black with a slight metallic sheen, but she was perfect so I bought her.

Similarly, I married a crazy, but incredibly beautiful and sexy female in the past thinking the trade out would be worth it, now I am now looking for a future Mrs. Alden, LOL! The Jag has worked out fine. It doesn't talk.

Some say that is a small price to pay for a good looking sports car, but I drive the red Mondial when rain threatens because the clean up is so much easier.

Yea I would only want black on a car like this that I never took out in the weather. They only look good when they are sparkling clean.

They ALWAYS look good. Only sometimes not as good (a little dirty). I always thought it was called “patina” though. wink, wink

Wade was that the black t coupe that ended up in Phoenix? A lot of rust by rear trunk? I think you posted some additional pics of it from when you went to look at her a couple years ago?

Sadly, lots of rust both front and rear. Needed loads of work as well.

Search the VIN here and a few threads will come up. I don't remember where it went after here.

    Black with grey interior.

Yeah; she ended up in Phoenix. I don’t know where she went after that. I specifically remember the pics you took of the rear trunk, literally disintergrating from rust.
