Well, It appears there are no more parts left over for the engine, so it must be ready to put back in the car. I have tidied up a few engine bay items, including replacing the power steering fluid tank with the item from a 355. This way, it shouldn't leak fluid everywhere. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Ugh oh...I shouldn't show you my leaking 355 power steering then... But more importantly, nice #$%@! engine you have there!!! One last detail, and I know you're cheap (meant in a good way, I follow same philosophy)...but those ribbed air inlet hoses have to go. Do they make any carbon or some other replacements?? And that can be done after no prob...
HOW THE HELL DO YOU KNOW ABOUT THAT PLACE!! http://images.google.com.au/imgres?imgurl=http://www.theirishclub.com.au/images/splash/image-index.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.theirishclub.com.au/&h=219&w=360&sz=29&hl=en&start=1&um=1&tbnid=-fv0cdzmdW-nAM:&tbnh=74&tbnw=121&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dmount%2Bisa%2Birish%2Bclub%26svnum%3D10%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26cr%3DcountryAU%26sa%3DN
I'm not sure carbon would be a good idea... it may well transmit too much vibration through to the MAFs. At least the inside of the hoses are smooth Maybe something in silicone might work... there is a connection to a small hose on the underside of each, so that would increase the cost - rules me out Of course, if someone wants to develop this I'm happy to test it out. BTW the 355 PS tank was replaced by a newer part, and is now the same part as used in the 360 for PS and the F1 system. Maybe you need a new tank? I hear that Ricambi have them
My sister bought me a T shirt in Vienna that reads "There's no bloody Kangaroos in Austria". Most people don't get it, or don't know the difference
Hmmmmmm............... I heard Arnold Schwarzenegger was actually born in Australia, NOT Austria. They just mispelled it on his birth certificate. I wish there were kangaroos in Austria!! That would get rid of some of the bloody things from here then.......
I hit one of the bloody things out near White Cliffs one day. Took out the whole front of an XD Falcon. I was driving a friend and her Japanese exchange student around on a trip and they were both devastated with the mess that the car made of the 'roo. It only got worse when the animal had to be euthanased as it had compound fractures of both femurs. About the only time I didn't have a rifle and wished I did. I would have put those 2 girls out of my misery... I mean the 'roo . In the end, I applied the wheel brace to its skull. Forcefully. The girls didn't talk to me for the next 3 days; it was great! (Not the roo) As a young kid/baby, we lived in Broken Hill. According to my parents, my first words were "Bloody Kangaroos".
LOL ................. errr................... I meant,.... why only one installed..... !!! BTW What year did this active suspension come out anyway???
Only 1 installed as... well... I was working from one side to the other, and took that pic halfway through. If it makes you feel any better, it is installed now. The adjustable suspension came out in 89 on the Mondial t (ie this model and year). The 355s came out after that but only with 2 position, compared to the vastly superior 3 position system of the Mighty Mondial t!!! The t also pioneered power steering in a V8 Ferrari (obviously for the hairdressers) which is the only reason you drive a 355 instead of a 348 - right?
Well, just fired it up and lo and behold - it runs! Now just have to tidy a few things up and road test...
Dear Lord! Call the CHP and please clear all the roads in the Simi Valley area and surrounding regions.
Yes, I feel much better now ..... I will no longer lose any sleep due to this..... ... 3 positions??... cool !!! What were they?? Yes that is the reason..... .......... wait a minute ...... you had a 355 too !!!
Hard medium and soft (I'll not say anymore about that). I did indeed have a 355. Wish I still did On a more positive note, just took the Mondial for a run around the block. Nothing fell off which I suppose is good
