I recently had my side mirrors off my 83 coupe. The mounts were packed with what looked like plumbers putty and had been sealed with silicone to the window/door frame. Of course I just reinstalled without all the above mentioned sealants and now I get lots of wind noise. Anyone know how they were mounted and sealed from the factory?
    Thanks

For the earlier models up to '84 there is no seal behind it I believe.

From '84 Ferrari started to add these seals. There is no difference between the QV and 3.2 ones and they should also fit on the earlier models. They are both still available for for less then 60 GBP. Else cut out a piece of the inner inflatable tyre. That is what I did in other older cars I had.

Yes it is. Here's a screencap for the left side. FYI, Ricambi USA shows it as "Unavailable".

Yes, they are one offs, shaped out of insulation foam then surface finished. They work perfectly, the noise is cancelled.
I am trying to draw a a part now which could be produced by 3D printing. But it'll be a while till it's done.

Oh Well, a winter project was to take the cats off anyway so hopefully I won't be able to hear the wind noise anyway. ;-)
