price of mondial 3.2 increase in the next years sure! same as 328 especially the last rare years serie car is fast, confortable, classic, enzo era,not expensive to mantain, parts easy to find, great great car! i believe in mondias as investiment for the future!
I just sold my 3.2 cabrio, but still have one QV cabrio. I see that original 308 is way to go, 328 facelift from 308 with bumpers, makes car look like facelifted. With 3.2 Mondial facelift worked much better.
you're missing the point and off base . there is a big difference between 3.2 an older owners and the 348 / 355 types . don't try to love them into the same category . totally different . it is a choice and is the way of drawings a line in the sand .
Here's a snapshot of the US/Ca spec cars per Andrew Wass (EnzoNZ) and Mike (soucorp): Image Unavailable, Please Login
Thanks for posting that Wade. BTW, whats the real numbers for the Valeo units produced, can't be only 8? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Mondial t Coupe Total production: 840, 45 RHD (3 Valeo). Mondial t Cabriolet Total production: 1,010, 51 RHD (5 Valeo).
Yes, it's difficult to say. However, at another forum recently... BTW, another Valeo is available for us: http://www.tirerack.com/wipers/detail.jsp?ID=1066&autoMake=Ferrari&autoModel=Mondial&autoYear=1988&autoModClar=
From page 144 of Ferrari Illustrated Buyers Guide 4th edition. I have yet to find a definitive number as Ferrari refuses to give out official production numbers. Cheers, Greg Image Unavailable, Please Login
I disagree... I keep seeing the 3.2 owners harping about their cars being superior because it's easier to service. I guess my question is, who buys a Ferrari because it's economical? I wanted a Mondial because a) I have long legs and it was the only one I could fit at the time (mid-90's, 355 era) and b) I wanted to be able to take my daughters with me. That said, I always wanted the latest technology available in the car. I loved the "t" configuration, based on an F1 car's layout, the modernized interior, the extra power and the more subtle bodywork. Different strokes for different folks, but I love the car that I have. It's given me exactly what I was looking for.
well u can buy a f40! space for legs is good too Mondial t is a nice car but not forget a ''mule'' of 348 not enough powered to 3.2 model a 3.2 with sport exhaust and kn filter provide around 300 hp too, same power, but easy to service!
Huh! ? 300hp. Not quite. Also if that were true a T would increase at the same ratio with those two ad ons and that certainly isn't the case.
I definitely did a few years ago. At the time, the maintenance and the associated cost was ownership was definitely a major concern. However, now several years later my maintenance bills seem no better just because it's a 3.2. I've accepted it. Because I really love the Mondial. Lots of pleasure associated with mine. Regardless of whether it's an 8, QV, 3.2 or t, you do need to periodically invest in these "antique automobiles." Guys, mine is about to turn 25! FYI, you guys just gave me a great idea!
well sure the T increase hp with sport exhaust , but the exhaust of T and 348 was very different from 3.2 sistem. But not than a 3.2 with a good exhaust about airflow Jetronic sistem is a meccanical injection, and was restrict for emissions with a low airflow, if u increase the airflow with kn and increase gasoline jet, yes bad emissions , but more hp! For change the gasoline jet in T system u have to change Ecm in the motronic sistem, not easy to do. i talk about euro cars... try ! or read about these mod on 328 forum
K&N airflow advantage is very small. I doubt you could quantify on a dyno. The advantage is that as it gets older, it doesn't clog up as quickly. If you want more air on the intake side, you need to increase the diameter of the throttle body. Regards, Jerry
I had both cars. I'll give my .02 if anyone cares... 3.2 Pros: - Cheese grater was cooler looking - Manual steering 3.2 Cons: - I don't care for the interior vs. the T (T looks more modern) - engine has higher center of gravity, more body roll in turns (this is a car I wasn't comfortable with on the track) - Seats were less comfortable - Instrument pod was really dated looking (vs. exterior) 3.2 Mixed feelings: - Some days I like the fender flares vs. the smoothed over flares on the T - no engine out service? times must have changed. Yeah, you don't have to pull the engine, but I have yet to see a mechanic who doesn't just pull it vs. dealing with contorting themselves to the interior. Mondial T pro's: - More modern interior - lower center of gravity on the engine, better handling at speed - when equipped with a Tubi AND test pipes, the sound....wow! - faster acceleration Mondial T cons: - Engine out service...I've just resigned myself every FCar needs this...factor into any purchase; - Quieter (stock) than the 3.2 series. Needs aftermarket help to make it sing - Those ******* shocks, chalk up to electrical gremlins, sometimes they worked, sometimes they didn't (i.e. settings soft-medium-hard no difference) - The seats were about 20% more comfortable than the 3.2. Why a con? Because they're still not comfortable for long trips - '92-'93 models got the damn electric seat belts. - I had a '92, but the '89 doesn't have the passenger/driver dashboard 'bolsters' (makes it look unfinished). Then again, those bolsters add nothing except reduced leg room on the knee side. Mondial T mixed: - Power steering...sometimes I like it, sometimes I don't. At speed though it's not an issue. I sold my T and got a 456 (wanted a 12 cylinder). Completely different car. More "comfortable" and "modern" - I missed the T's more 'raw' feel. In next 6 months, I may go back to a T (want to try a Valeo). Both cars are really good cars, the 3.2 are great buys, but I preferred the T in the end. And I never did get around to pulling the 3.4 motor and putting in a F355 V8 - my way of updating the Mondial.
Neat thread. For cheese graters, I'm sure you've seen these. SO glad they fixed them on the Spider. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I adopted my seat mice. I gave them names, as well. Driver's side is Melvin and passenger side is Kelvin. They're quite happy to have a loving home in which they can run back and forth. Cheers, Hank
