    A friend has a recent Ram 1500 Ecodiesel and really likes it. He drives a lot on the highway and tows about 6000 lbs every once in a while so it is a good fit.

    He also reports getting nearly 30mpg on the highway.

    My results in the 2001 F250 7.3 Crew Cab Short bed 4x4:

    High elevation - NV, UT and WY...hwy- 15.6mpg

    East Coast mix (hwy/city) - 19.0 mpg

    These are all hand calculated figures. I could see 22-23 pure hwy on flat ground.

    Not bad considering the size and weight.
