I went to a Cardinals winter caravan event when we lived in Memphis (home of the Redbirds' triple A team) with my New York Mets cap. Bob Carpenter stopped midway through his spiel, and made me put it on backwards. Then he reminded everyone about "The Mets are Pond Scum" comment.

I wish him success in New York, after he demands a contract over 300 million dollars, with an out clause.

He misses approximately 60 games each season.

NOT worth the cash. He is not Arod - or Lindor.

Astros should spend the money elsewhere.

Give him a Q.O. in a few years and let him walk.

This video is just as funny, but still as cringe-worthy as the last time I posted a video of her. Thankfully I've only heard the audio through the sports radio.

Nothing like a pro ball player having those hard hitting injury questions from his fiance. Oh yea, she HEARD his rib break from downstairs.

    Prospect in the Astros system.

    What a game !

3 for 4, with a walk, 3 runs scored, and 3 stolen bases.

Should have never changed the team name to Miami Marlins. They're uniforms are probably the worst in the league.

Same designer as original Buccaneers uniforms?

A century or two ago, I correctly predicted that like Patriots of yesteryear, Bucs would suck hard until lame-ass uniforms & logos changed to something a 2-year-old girlie's-girly-girl might find slightly menacing.

We need robot umps (machines) to call the balls and strikes.

I have seen mistakes (calling balls and strikes) by umps incorrectly change the outcome of a game.

In addition, I also firmly believe the home team typically gets a slightly added boost, with more favorable calls.
    __________

A hitter is clearly at a disadvantage or advantage, if he waits for the pitch with a 1-2 or 2-1 count.

The umps mistakes are taken in-stride and accepted as part of the game.

    Enough is enough.

Should never have moved the team to central Miami. Much of their fan support had been in Broward and Palm Beach counties, and those fans aren't coming anymore. They should have built their new ballpark near Hard Rock Stadium.

Question: does anyone think that the acquisition of Dallas Keuchel will push the Braves past the Phillies in the NL East?

Quite a bit of Keuchel's success depends on the ump calling his pitch, at the bottom of the plate. Typically, he has some difficulty with the first inning. You still have approximately 60% of the schedule. The Phillies can make counter moves and anything is possible with performance and injuries - or lack of.

He pitched 7 innings at Rome, gave up only 1 hit and 1 walk. Granted, this was against class A talent, but that's pretty good for a guy who hasn't pitched in a while. Of course, if the Phillies insist on giving up 8 homers in a game, who knows what's going to happen?

They opened the game back-to-back-to-back, so they were off and running. The Phillies starter gave up five hits, all home runs.

(But if you think that's bad, North Carolina gave up 13 runs to Auburn in the first inning of their college playoff game. That game was over before it barely got started!)

I was just thinking, as a kid when the marlins became a team I actually liked their colors. Or for whatever reason I was a fan. Had a Marlin's hat with the tazmanian devil. Remember when Disney characters appeared on all sorts of clothing back then? Lol

I think Phils pitchers threw around 2,000 pitches last night. When the game was 11-4, one of the Phils relievers walked the D-Back pitcher. Worst bullpen in the majors. You Braves fans have nothing to worry about. I think Harper has somewhere around 90 Ks this year. The loss of McCuchen was a total killer. Oh, Brother!

Yankees get another "incarnation". With Encarnacion, Sanchez and Voit, and Judge and Stanton back, this will be a Murderer's Row that could make 1927 seem like nothing!

1927? I'm nothing if not a die-hard Yankees hater, but the '27 Yankees had two dudes, Ruth and Gehrig, who were none to shabby! ;)
About half a dozen HoF players on that team...T
