Olivier, can you confirm that the car they have Pictures as 4864 is really 4864? Since it Looks like quite a few cars are wrongly marked as identified. nothing is identified without having the vin plate pictured or having a reliable source.
Knowing Fabrice, I know he is showing accurate informations... as the pics would be too BTW, his website has more than 520x Miura listed, which makes it the most complete so far among all the others !
Salon Privé 2016 was a great event and I was very pleased to be invited to be part of the Jury, whose Chairman was none less than Derek Bell. Judging the eight Miuras was not easy, as you can imagine, every one of them being quite good and almost every one of them having some minor fault in the most diverse sectors, from missing tools to the wrong spare wheel, missing battery cover, wrong clock, strange screws etc. These details made the difference. #4846, albeit not perfect, was anyhow in our opinion the best of the lot and won the Best in Class award. The Roadster wasn't attended by anyone so we couldn't have it started for judging, a real pity. Thursday, the day of the Concorso, was pleasantly sunny and almost warm; Blenheim Palace is a really impressive place to be. Sadly, the judging chores take so much time that I didn't manage to snap any picture of the Miuras, Countach and other Lamborghinis. However, SP is a very nice event and I hope to visit it in 2017 as well. Cheers Stefano
Stefano, I know you like Silhouette's, did you see mine in the pirelli Concours on Saturday at Blenhiem Palace? Now back in its original colour of Rame Colorado. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Good work Stefano! Here you are in action: https://www.lamborghini.com/en-en/miura-sv-awarded-salon-prive Were the headlamps of 4846 stuck open? Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hello Joe, thanks a lot for the link to the pic, I didn't see it until now. Frankly I think that the rhetoric of this PR release is a bit stuffy considering that here they got a Class win there and in Villa d'Este the car won only a 'public' vote, we judges didn't award it anything in its Class. OTOH I am sure that the headlamps of #4846 worked fine when we judged the car, probably they stuck in the 'in' position later, they were still like that in the evening. Dear Richard, your Silhouette in Rame Colorado looks splendid. Sadly, I had to leave Blenheim early Friday morning due to the health problems of Anna's parents so I missed the Pirelli Concorso and couldn't admire it. I would have surely appreciated your beautiful car, I really still have a soft spot for Silhouettes..... I must say that Salon Privé was a really amazing experience and I think that Lamborghini enthusiasts are really 'at home' there. BTW, today I met Albert Spiess in Faenza with Rita (so I understood why they weren't in Blenheim with their Miura Roadster) on their blue Gallardo Spyder, as, for an incredibly lucky coincidence, they and something like 20+ plus other Aventadors, Huracans, etc were passing just in front of my practice at 11 am in the most thunderous convoy that Faenza has ever seen (and heard!) They are really a nice couple and so much in love with Lamborghini.... Thanks a lot Stefano

PS due to this unexpected early departure, I also missed the Friday evening Lamborghini dinner and this was really too bad, as Lamborghini kindly invited me and I would have been extremely happy to meet old and new UK Lamborghini friends and owners.... All the best Stefano
PS2: Dear Richard, I don't know if I answered your pvt message. God, I hate private messages, I keep on missing notifications and in the past somebody riled me unpleasantly about this. Please, anyone who wants to get in touch with me, you would be very kind to contact me via normal e-mail, not pvt message on this chat. Thank you! Stefano
Since 1968, for the 1st time Miura #3586 is coming back to Valley d'Aosta in the Alps... this is happening actually at Gran San Bernardo passo where the "Italian Job" movie was recorded The car used in the movie is doing a remake for a TV program to be released before end of this year !!! it is very thrilling to live such experience and to interview people who saw already that Miura end of June 1968, the local Police is helping us to stop traffic, these cops are so enthusiastic too... This is so true from Valentino Balboni "Unfortunately, when it comes to this point of view, I have to agree. Maybe we are losing this part of the old fashioned personality and character. I am convinced that unfortunately we will slowlyslowlylose this kind of beautiful thing. I always say I was very lucky to experience, in my lifetime, the best times of the real sports car." Thanks Joe
Everything has an end, this time Miura #3586 will pass the tunnel La Thuile without hurting a bulldozer on the exit... Image Unavailable, Please Login
Agree with Valentino's sentiments. The Audi era cars are many things, beautiful is not one of them. IMVHO, of course!
If they had used a later car with vented discs, perhaps it might have just stopped in time? Would have made for a much shorter movie.
Here is one fact about last week end at Chantilly Car Prestige organised by Peter Auto in France : There was a special class for the 50th anniversary of Miura P400 presented at Torino exhibition 1966. Special Jury Award was granted Prototype 1966 to the wonderfull and unique Lamborghini Miura #0862 from the Swiss Collection Caveng. Having detailled that very early Miura myself, the 2nd built prototipo and the older Miura in existence since the Sperimentale N°1 was destroyed, #0862 was used for the R&D by Bob Wallace at "reparto sperimentale", instensively modified and improved, it is so exceptionnal and truly well restored to the highest level ! Valentino & Simon kidtson commenting the event are welcoming the Winner on stage... Congratulations !!! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
