Not group 4 but one of the 1973 WRC winning cars, and I had the privilege to have a ride in this car and I have always wanted one, but they like lots of cars been just out of reach Image Unavailable, Please Login
As an aside,I was given and am currently reading:Bob Watson's biography. As you'll be aware he was Aussie Renault's gun rally driver in the early 70's in R8 and 12 Gordini's
Bob Watson's Renault's R8 and R16's combined with the A110 were the reason I became a Rally enthusiast. My Dad bought a new French import R16TS in 1969 which at the age of 92 he still raves about. Shame he sold it with offering it to me.
That would be even better! Last I looked (15 years ago, or so), the trick was to buy a 1600 S out of Mexico as a base car, and then restore it to what you wanted. I'd convert it to RHD to annoy KIAI
ALPINE AFFAIRE have the molds for the entire car including a RHD dash. At one stage AA intended making replicas called Arrows. and the other trick was to buy a then unloved 4 cylinder A110 and rebody it as an 1600 SX as they used the same chassis. Now a 1600 A310 with its 6 headlights is a lot more valuable Image Unavailable, Please Login
Local bloke has one of the new Alpina and it looks and sounds fabulous; he reckons it’s great and he’s had plenty of cars to compare.
Another car that could burn a hole in Simon's pocket https://www.caradvice.com.au/859971/first-hdt-holden-monaro-under-the-hammer/
This would be the record for a Bathurst winning car: Brocks 1982/83 VH Commodore https://www.speedcafe.com/2018/10/07/brocks-1982-83-bathurst-winner-sells-for-2-1-million/
Not bad. But not as awesome as my VH SLE 3.3 auto burgundy with matching purple velour Interior that I bought in 1991 for the bargain price of $8999 or nearest offer.
