Holy moly
It gets better: Sydney Morning Herald https://www.smh.com.au/business/companies/former-ferrari-australasia-boss-tried-to-talk-employee-into-abortion-court-papers-say-20200604-p54zp7.html Former Ferrari Australasia boss tried to talk employee into abortion, court papers say Samantha Hutchinson and Michael Evans June 4, 2020 — 8.09pm The former head of Ferrari in Australasia has been accused of trying to talk a subordinate into having an abortion after learning she had become pregnant during their office relationship. Herbert Appleroth, who was ousted as the boss of the luxury carmaker last November and is an heir to the Aeroplane Jelly fortune, launched a case for unlawful dismissal in the Federal Court against his former employer, seeking nearly $1 million in lost salary plus performance shares. But court documents released to The Sydney Morning Herald and The Age late on Thursday reveal how the consensual office relationship, which ran from 2016 to 2017 and bore Mr Appleroth a son in 2018, quickly soured when the woman who cannot be named for legal reasons became pregnant.
For a company that's obsessed with its brand, this must be torture. I assume these grubby details are circulating worldwide.
Do you think Maurizio’s surname, “ arrived in a beanie” means something else? Silly signature here to annoy KIAI
Lol, yeah. Wow! Obviously Herbie couldn't keep his little pecker in his pants and it looks like he is going out of his way to take everyone down with him lol.
*sigh* HA filed a suit against Ferrari, then withdrew it when advised it would be made public. It is the courts who have since released the information to the media, not HA.
Yes, which makes you wonder what powers decided to release these - getting back at HA, Ferrari or all the above? Seems a very odd decision as I really can’t see any public interest apart from amusement.
Surely his lawyer would have known and advised him the details would be made public before the decision was made to lodge the claim in the first place?
The lady involved sought a suppression order to keep her's and her son's names confidential. The judge who made that ruling released the original documents. It's routine for court matters to be published when a matter ends, unless there is a public interest in keeping them sealed.
A lawyer is a person who can rote learn, and prove retained knowledge of, thousands of court cases. Julia Gillard is a perfect example of a qualified lawyer with an astonishing lack of judgement and common sense. In my experience, this is typical of the profession. Pedantic obsession with irrelevant detail is the norm. As has often been said, it's hard to get in to law school but not hard to graduate.
What, forego the fees from a potentially long and expensive case? You clearly don't understand how the legal profession operates!
They are starting to use Lawyers in the States now instead of Lab rats . They have found that you don't get as attached to a Lawyer, Lawyers breed faster than rats, and there are some things even a rat won't do!
To ensure confidence and the integrity of the legal system most court documents are available to the public, and the public can attend most courts and view the proceedings. Ferrari is the words most powerful brand , and with that goes significant corporate social responsibilty to act ethically and without discrimination and to set an example that is beyond reproach. The ethics of a company are exemplified by the behaviour of its leadership team. What HA has alleged is that key executives in Ferrari have relationships with junior staff, and that was known inside the company and did not have adverse employment effects and that it was unfair he was dismissed for the same thing. It's damaging for Ferrari on a global scale. And I don't recall a case where the employer has allegedly pressured a subordinate staff member to have an abortion. This explains the issue of power imbalance, consent and harrasment and the consequences. https://www.insidehr.com.au/power-imbalance-consent-sexual-harassment/
