Former double World Champion Mika Hakkinen, who is 39, and his wife Erja, are getting a divorce according to reports. The German national daily Bild-Zeitung said the Finnish pair, who have two young children (Hugo and Aina-Julia) and live in Monaco, are parting ways. "I am very surprised," said German motorsports commentator Hans-Joachim Stuck. "To me they always seemed like the Finnish version of Michael and Corinna Schumacher - a perfect couple," he added. 45-year-old Erja Hakkinen, whose maiden name is Honkanen, is a former television journalist. Mika Hakkinen recently retired from the German touring car series DTM. i hope it's just a rumour. Mika's a great person.

Why the sad face about divorce? There's a pretty good chance it's for the better. Why force a marriage if one or both of the people don't want to be there? Maybe if you're looking from the kids' perspective I can understand, but you said Mika.
