Look close at side scoop, looks like there is a lot of camo over it and the actual shape will be different...

They’re rumors of the highest output motor option to have turbos.

I'm sure of it. They have to have an super version once sales start to slacken.

I hope. But I'm not sold on Ferrari's turbos.

Saw enough of the interior to know that all the people thinking that its going to be better than the C7 are delusional. But that car will be a grand slam anyway. Yeah right.

We're so spoiled for power though, it's amazing we can get a ZR1 for the price we can. If the mid engined vette is priced similar it's great for us as consumers.

Yes I totally agree. I've made this same argument with Ferrari and Lambo and McLaren. We don't need that much power to have fun. Its overkill and I fear like the 70's muscle cars, one day they will be stomped on by people in power "fed up" with it.

Terrific value -- but are we heading off a cliff with these power wars?

Maybe, but there are worse cliffs we could fall off. In 15 years all super cars will be sub 2 second to 60 mph electric cars with no personality so let’s enjoy the next 10 years as much as we can.

I guess it depends if you have to have a car that does 0-60 in 2 seconds or not. I'll just keep my current cars. I like the way they sound and drive. Maybe I might have to replace one because I could no longer get parts or they rust away but other than that not too interested.

More Nurburgring testing - pretty clear in the first few minutes that the side scoop shape is different than what we are seeing. It’s clearly covered up, you see the indentation in the camp and how it doesn’t really line up with the car:

Exactly....are we really complaining about TOO much power????

Thirty years ago base Corvettes were lucky to have 210HP! "Performance" cars of the early 1980's would get DUSTED by a current V6 Camry.

The higher end (Z06/ZR1) variants will more than likely be TT DOHC V8's. I don't think the cars we're seeing (and hearing) now are THOSE cars.

Anybody notice in this spy shot the rear air inlet duct looks like a take on the shape of the inlets on the 308 door inlets? :)
I think the big scoopy things are part of the camo.

Looks exactly like the renderings on Vette forum, which is disappointing.

I think the designers couldn't figure out how to put more oddball trapezoids in the rear view so they stopped when they filled it up.

Yup, I don’t expect any real surprises when the camo comes off outside of the side scoop.

Looks like it ties in with GM’s design language, all the weird shapes and such. It’s not bad, it’s just not great.

Side note - I saw the new Blazer on the road yesterday and it’s how I feel the Vette will be. Attractive, not stunning, very derivative. I was wondering if it was a Hyundai, until I saw the Chevy bow tie.

The rear end is definitely my least favorite angle of the car. There's just so much wrong with it, IMO: the wing is terrible, the exhaust pipes look too small for the size of the rear, and I don't like the giant opening for the license plate. I understand that they needed to accommodate Euro plates, but I think it would've looked better if it were sloped on the sides and not just dropped down to create a giant opening. I'm also not a fan of the design of the taillights or the integration of the rear vents.

I'm still looking forward to seeing the car, especially in person at some point. I think it will be a good looking car overall, and I think the rear will look better when taken in context with the rest of the car.

I miss the round tail lights and really like the C6 rear treatment.

The C7 rear looks like a Shogun / Samurai helmet and I cant un-see it.

This C8 rear is yucky. :(
