I live in Saginaw...
it was a fun event it was nice getting to the track. thanks for the info about it again. here are some photos, if you want to pass them on to that corvette board that you posted before that would be great. thanks http://speed-photos.smugmug.com/gallery/1694635/1
I wish i could've made it.... i knew i had too much work to do this weekend damn, i really should invest in better glass.... I'd love to see a few panning shots in hi-res! I have to admit, i dont feel too bad about not being there saturday, except the weather was nicer then a week ago wednesday. http://img77.imageshack.us/my.php?image=c6z0617ze.jpg http://img156.imageshack.us/my.php?image=c6z0628xe.jpg http://speed-photos.smugmug.com/gallery/1694635/4/83542555 ^^^^^^^ with this one.... i can't say i like it a lot, but it definately confuses me a bit... did you zoom out while panning? thats all i can make sence of with the directional vectors... or post processing. thanks Nathan
ya that is what i did i got bored what can i say. i can send you some stuff in higher res if you could tell me what ones you would like to see. i like your 2nd photo alot, i have a photo sort of like it from a different event but it was not as sharp. i think i may have asked before but what camera/glass do you have? for some of the photos i used my old sigma lens because i wanted more reach (300 over the 200 in my nikon)
well, when you feel you've gotten the shots you want, thats' when its time to expiriment its that thought that leads me to wanting the EFS 100-400L but in all reality, my telephoto is totally useless over 200 mm. its a quantaray 100-300 that i bought just as i was beggining to get into photography... unfortunately, my funds have been diverted to other things besides that. I have a lot planned already for what i'll be getting... at least two pro-sumer hi-def cameras, a couple fly-cam stabilizers, a boom..... just on the hardware side for video, before things like proper mic's, and mountings... for the still cam stuff, well, the L lenses really do it for me, even if i dont have one yet.... hehe. i have to admit, im suprised your overhead pan was less sharp... VR is the god of maintaining sharpness so often... but well, even going slower then 1/60 might prove hard to do with VR/IS etc. on a positive note, the quantaray 100-300 does spectacular close ups with very clean bokeh... if only the focusing distance was less then 5-6 feet photos i love.. http://speed-photos.smugmug.com/gallery/1694635/1/83437900 ^^^^^ the DoF is something i can't match on my lens..... very clean, very sharp http://speed-photos.smugmug.com/gallery/1694635/4/83542554 this one also really cought my eye... the high saturation of the red agaisnt the grass, and the dust..... its very nice cheers -Isaac
