I noticed that on the Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 that there isn't a right and left (directional) side to the tires. I called Michelin about the how these should be mounted because if you mount the tires with the wide band to the outside (as they request) they curved grooves on the outside would curve in opposite direction to each other. The left side would have the outside curved grooves directed towards the back of the car and the right side towards the front of the car. Can this be correct since it would seem that the tire would shed water in one direction on one side of the car and in the opposited direction on the other? Does anyone have any enlightenment on this?

The curved grooves are more for DOT tread requirements than for water dispersion, IMO. The PS2 is really a dry weather high perf. tire, with about as much rubber surface as they could squeeze in. The treads are more for decoration than for water dispersion.

Translation: don't go fast in heavy rain with them...

I just put a set of these PS2 tires on my CLK and they are waaaaaayyyy better than the pilot sports I had on before. They remind me of the old mxx3 which was awesome.

Out of all the tires I've tried lately these are the best

    1. PS2
    2. S03
    3. pilot sport
    4. Pzero Nero (flat spotted like a champ)
    5. ave es100(great for the money but tramlines)
    6. kdw2 (loud, but decent)

The PS2 tires are supposed to be assimetric so you can rotate them form side to side without any worries.....after looking at them it seems feasible
