We know the Dolphins are a mess, no surprise there. But F1?

they were horrible to deal with during the Bernie era, not sure if that has changed with Liberty; I remember when they were negotiating with IMS for the USGP at Indy, they were phenomenally arrogant and dismissive despite working with the most famous race track on the planet.

Hubris doesn't go very far in the hood. Miami Gardens is the hood.

Interesting theory about Miami GP opposition proposed by editor of Miami's Community Newspapers
    editor Grant Miller.

Miller's theory is that the opposition is coming from Austin, Texas (COTA). Not much backing this up
in the article but an interesting theory none the less.

So you're admitting you (or your unimpeachable source) was wrong about it being ISC with a $20-30 million dollar budget to spend fighting the race?

No, why would I do that in the face of the FACT that Homestead/NASCAR has hired The Better Florida
Alliance lobbying group to help thwart the event?

My unimpeachable source was a lieutenant of the Ralph Sanchez group during the first downtown
Miami Grand Prix, at Homestead Miami International Speedway and served as Miami-Dade Sports
Commissioner with direct access to the mayor's office.

    Who is your source?

Prove it as fact. You've only speculated. And your budget of $20-30 million is laughable. Anybody can see the opposition hasn't spent much at all, probably less than $10,000.

The article you posted today makes sense though.

I wish they would've come to an agreement to race somewhere around downtown Miami near the water, such a more proper F1 racing scene that would've made it at least visually something resembling Monaco. Formula-E has a course downtown already so not sure why they couldn't expand on that, I guess the roads are just too tight and unsafe for F1 speeds.

Regardless, very excited to finally have it official no matter where.

I just realized the race is on Mother’s Day. That’s going to be problematic for some people. Of all the days they could have picked??

$5000 nonrefundable deposit for some vaguely worded type of hospitality experience is a bit too much a bit too early for me. I'm spending less for 2 seats in the Podium Club at COTA in Austin and round trip first class airfare.

Where did you get them? Don’t see them for sale on the F1 site yet.

Club seats are already being sold to sponsors which include many car clubs such as FCA. Individual tickets to the public are still not available.

I should've specified it was offered by one of our local FCA chapters, it was not a national FCA announcement. I would check with your local group first.

One thing I would suggest the organizers do.

Take a look at everything COTA has done in promotion and do the exact opposite.

I wonder if there will be a lot of Mclaren fan sections. My dealer is putting a package together but it’s still in the planning stage.
