I have a 2017 GLS 63 AMG right now, it is my first Mercedes and I have fallen in love with it. If Mercedes can do a large heavy 3-row SUV this awesome, it makes me wonder about their GT offering. Watching YouTubers, who are often critical, it seems like a universally loved model. I'm going to start this thread to document the various variations and hear from owners.

So keeping it simple to start, below are the main GT variations taking out the Roadsters and Track/Race Cars.

The new 2024 AMG GT should be launching any day now. There's also rumor the 63 may recieve a hybrid 6cyl putting out 750+HP that setup should give a the car a great weight balance between F&R

I'm interested, even as a DD if they go 2+2.

I looked at a couple of GT models and found I just couldn't fit into them properly. I'm 6' 0" so one would think such a car would fit me but it didn't. I found it very uncomfortable after 15 minutes of driving. Instead, I purchased a 2017 SL 63 AMG. It was a slick car, a bit heavy in turns, but very nice. I loved the car but didn't love that it had no bottom to the depreciation curve so I sold it after owning it for six months and a year or so later, fell for a gated 360 Spider.

I like the gt c the best just based on appearance. It has all the right pieces without going overboard.

I had a GTS, then went to the GTC - more power, wide stance, rear wheel steering - nice GT car , handles well , distinctive look.
Cant compare to the Ferrari feel - thats on another level. But that being said , a lot of car for the money on the second hand market and not as 'needy' as my Ferraris are.
Just my two cents if that makes sense...

The ride is your typical front mid engine GT car. I treat all my 'sports cars' as weekend cars. They don't have daily driver appeal to me, I like to keep them special.
I daily an S580 AMG sedan - comfort is key...

I don't think it has the sports car appeal of the current AMG GT's, but I do think this could end up being one of the best looking 2+2's, which I'm interested in.

I prefer the lines of the convertible over the coupe. The GT C roadster is a beautiful car.

I am not in love with the proportions of the new car. Looks very generic.
I prefer the lines and proportion of the 2016+ gen

I like the proportions and design of the exterior better. Interior looks more modern. I wouldn’t need the tiny kid back seats but rear storage with those seats folded down looks very good.

not sure the engine has much roar to it…

The previous gen GTC has a nice roar to it (can confirm on daily basis). New one's got the same 4.0L bi-turbo in the new one with the GTR's power. Certain that it will sound as good or better.
