Hi guys. I'm very excited to say I've just bought my first ferrari... a sweet black F12! I'm in Canberra and the car is in Melb... thinking it deserves to be driven home! There's the standard route but am wondering if you have a preferred route that is more "entertaining"? Sent from my SM-G998B using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Congrats on your first Ferrari, F12 is pretty epic. One interesting route is: Melbourne / Albury / Corryong / Dead Horse Gap / Thredbo / Jindabyne / Cooma / Canberra BTW Auto Italia is on the 11th of April - meet some other Ferrari owners. M
great drive , just keep of the roads after about 3.30pm? To get there you could do . Yarra Glen ,Yea,Mansfield , King valley, Myrtleford, Bruarong , Tallangatta , (thus by passing Albury to get to Corryong.) 735ks from Yarra Glen to Canberra .
or another some great roads down Gippsland , overnight at Metung . Then Metung to Cann River , Cooma and onto Canberra . 447km Happy to suggest the roads from Melbourne to Metung , NO need to drive down the Princess hwy .
I'd second this. Khancobhan to Dead Horse gap is a great bit of road. If you have more time, going to stretch over 2 days, then stop overnight in Thredbo or Jindabyne. Then rather than going back through Cooma, the drive out the the Snowy Mountains Highway Adaminaby, Tumut, Gundagai is also a good drive. More a flowing road. All of these roads are daylight only roads in a nice car, unless you want to pop a bullbar and some spotties on the F12
Agreed! Anyone who is looking for the road less travelled has already worked out what a 'proper ' car is all about!
Congrats on the purchase, I would also recommend this route, I just did 2 weeks ago the Tumut to Khancobin to Thredbo in one direction & then returning after some great Vic high country driving I left Falls Creek & then back to Sydney this way & did it comfortably in a day, definitely better imo then the Jindabyne, Cooma route.
Why not do the whole Alpine route - Bairnsdale, Omeo on the Vic side and Thredbo Jindabyne etc on the NSW side. I did this in my 308 many years ago and had a fabulous time! The road from Cann River to Bombala (eastern Vic up into NSW) is also a fabulous driving road.
In the near future ,I'm doing Cann River to Cooma/Canberra , I'll let you know what the road is like ,as it can carry cattle grazing ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Some great townships along the way to have an Ice~~~`Cream at .
That's some awesome advice thanks guys. I think the idea of a 2 dayer stopping in Thredbo is a cracker! Fark I'm excited. Here's a couple of picks... Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Sent from my SM-G998B using FerrariChat.com mobile app
So you should be excited !!!!!!!! I'd be down there NOW waiting for them to finish polishing it Stunning colour for an F12
I always thought I'd be a red ferrari guy, but when i finally decided on the F12 ( and its been a long journey from 458 through 488 to v12land), I just reckon darker colours on the f12 make it even meaner looking. My kids aren't taking too me though... they think I've broken some Italian code of ferrari ethics not choosing rosso... Sent from my SM-G998B using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Gorgeous!....I always think of Clarkson trying to explain the power of the F12 on the tennis court...What a first Ferrari to own!...
