there is an app called Hammer Price that shows all of the sold (or high bid) prices of cars at major auctions, including this one. 812 Comp sold for 1.65M, 812SF sold for $352k, Roma sold for $236.5k, F8 Tributo sold for $330k. The others on Friday (Roma, 296GTB, 296GTS, 812GTS) did not sell. Saturday had a 308GTSi sell for $82.5k and a 360 Spider sell for $79.2k.

I’m the new owner of the 308 mentioned here—my first Ferrari, and I’m absolutely thrilled. I’ve owned a number of enthusiast cars over the years (mostly German), but this one already feels special. Whether I overpaid is hard to say—as a first-time Ferrari buyer and with the variability in these cars, it’s tough to judge. That said, the recent $23K service at Moorespeed definitely gave me some peace of mind.

One big advantage in this case was being able to see the car in person before committing. That helped a lot with confidence—photos only tell part of the story.

I bought this car to drive, not to stash away. The seat leather’s worn, but I’m kind of drawn to the patina and may just leave it as-is. I’ve always gravitated toward well-loved drivers—I rotate regularly between an ’80 911SC, an ’82 BMW 320iS, and an ’88 Range Rover Classic around the loop here in Houston.

The 308 is currently idling high when warm—possibly a vacuum leak or AAV from what I’ve read on the forum. I tightened a few very loose vacuum hose clamps this evening and am hoping that helps. I’ll take it for a proper drive tomorrow when I’m less likely to annoy the neighbors.

While I’ve got a lot of experience wrenching on BMWs, Mercedes, and especially Porsches, this is my first time diving into a Ferrari. I’d love to connect with any fellow owners in the Houston area—particularly anyone local who might be willing to share some knowledge or lend a hand. I’m in Montrose.

Congrats Drew and welcome. As far as I'm concerned, the only opinion that matters about the price paid is yours. Sure, it's at the high end of the range for Si's, but as you said; that $23k recent service buys a lot of peace of mind and and was money that would be spent sooner or later anyway. Plus, the value of all 308s seems to be steadily creeping up so I wouldn't say you paid too much, it may just take a minute for the market to catch up.
Meanwhile, you'll find a pretty damn fine community here that will be happy to assist you with all the other needs your car will have that weren't covered in that $23k service. :p
Have a great time with your 308.
