I just received my 2006 F430 from bringatrailer and it has some issues. The headers are original & I think they are cracked. Also the clutch slips a lot so I think the PIS needs adjustment. I would also like them to look the car over for any needed repairs.

Any recommendations for an independent mechanic in Palm Beach county?

I second excel in Boca. Bought my 430 last August and they had just serviced it and replaced the clutch. They care and had no problem letting me crawl all over and under the car before I bought it asking a 1000 questions or so and their prices are reasonable. I’m taking it there in August or so for its annual service as the price they quoted me when I bought it seemed like a no brainer versus me doing it all myself.

I’d be extra careful with Excell. I’ve had much experience with them. They performed a PPI on my car before purchase and missed it needing quite a bit of service. Stuff that wasn’t difficult to detect either. On top of that, we then proceeded to attempt to fix what was wrong. However, they then incorrectly diagnosed the problem resulting in me spending thousands of dollars only to find out it didn’t correct the issue.

Unfortunately I do not have an alternative in South FL. I ended up taking my car all the way to Sarasota to a guy there who actually did fix the car. He also told me that the previous mechanic’s (Excell) service records made no sense and that he needed to basically start from scratch.
