This Friday I am picking up a 308 GT4 I purchased this week. It is a 1975 Series One car that has been in California all its life. I want to have some stuff done to the engine and need to find a good Ferrari Mechanic in the West Los Angeles area. I live in Venice but have driven all over the place for my Alfas. I would prefer not to have to do the same with the Ferrari. In my search of Ferrari Chat, Fast Cars (in Redondo Beach) came up. I heard one mixed review about them. I want to find a mechanic that is familiar with these cars (or at least with 308s) so any recommendation would be appreciated.

There is FastCars in Redondo Beach - a sponsor here, 12 miles south of Venice Beach. Talk to Craig, calder1 on Fchat.

I recommend the guys at Black Horse, and I hear great things about Claudio. If Tillack still owns Fast cars stay far away unless you're pockets are filled with money?
He can smell you a mile away and take it from you, then farm the job down the street at the jeep repair shop. He did it to me.

My 328 has been going to Giuseppe at F&M for almost 7 years now and he's been terrific. It's there right now for the major service. Probably also closest to you geographically.

All of those are decent suggestions.
I have tried all of them..
But the best guy if you live in Venice Beach, like I do, is Robert Jenni located at 4100 Glencoe Ave.
His shop is called Exotic performance. Sounds like a place you would buy a sex tapes or something right?
So close by, I drop off my car and walk home..
    Simply the best...
And he runs circles around all those other guys mentioned...

Thanks for all the recommendations. I went to visit F&M this morning and they seem to be nice guys (not that it means much). I also plan to go see Fast Cars to get a feel before making a decision. Since my post I have read good things about Fast Cars but wonder if I need deep pockets to go there. I guess that comes hand in hand with owning a Ferrari. Cheers

Definitely not in my experience. I bring my 360, 612, and 360 challenge there, and have not needed deep pockets. Discuss your needs with them and see if you like what you hear.
