"..... McMurtry Spéirling PURE Validation Prototype 1 (VP1). It is an evolution of the hypercar that set the Goodwood record and is the next step towards a finalized production model, of which only 100 will be made." "The first Spéirling PURE customer deliveries are set for 2026 and will feature a number of enhancements over this prototype, namely a higher 100kWh capacity battery back. This will allow for extended sessions in the Spéirling, providing 20 minutes of track time at ‘GT3 pace’ and ‘record-breaking’ pace for multiple hot laps." https://mcmurtry.com/upside-down-driving/ .
I know someone who placed an order awhile back, he's a super good driver an absolutely nuts car that's pretty much unmatched as an experience, think i'd be scared to drive it tbh!
Who are the people who can afford this little monster, have the skills to drive it to potential, and also have the physical conditioning to survive F1 level performance?! F1 drivers have to train full time to do it so I don't think the typical 50 year old rich guy who does Porsche cup or Ferrari challenge can just leave his office to helicopter in to do 5g McMurtry laps
Maybe he'll do 4g laps, still would be an epic experience. I'd love to drive an F1 car. I couldn't extract its full potential, but I bet I would still have hell of a good time driving it. Same with McMurtry.
Wouldn't you love to see a spec series of these, with the best drivers from all the series? Sort of like the old IROC races?
I would guess wealthy pro racers who want something as fast as their racer but don't want F1 level maintenance? But what kind maintenance does this even need?
