Hi dear friends of the forum,

Have any of you driven, tested the 675lt? If so, how do you compare it to Ferrari product like for ex, the Speciale?

What did you like and dislike about the 675lt?

Thank you all for your inputs :)

P.S - a great 2016 full of health, success and happiness to you all!!!

Drove 675 and own a Speciale Aperta. Mac is fair bit quicker, tighter, feels better built due to car on monocoque, rarer. Great colours and strong sense of occasion, doors etc. Speciale has more soul and provenance. Better investment.

I put about 100 miles on a Speciale and about 20 miles on an LT. And I drove the LT right after putting 20 miles on a Aventador SV :)

Since I have been here at CNC (4 yeas) I have always loved Ferraris. My experience was normal city/highway driving. I am by no means a good enough driver to try and push these cars and get them anywhere close to their limits. From a driving stand point I did not notice and real/major differences. To me the difference from a 458 vs a speciale is no where near as dramatic as a 430 to a Scuderia. I love the styling of Speciale especially with a stripe! The Speciale is one of my favorite cars but it is a different animal than a scud. I think all these cars are about using the newest innovations from F1 and show off their findings with their road cars. It is almost like all you have to do is think and the car will shift. The LT shifts 10x's better than a 12c but I would give this to the Speciale.

I loved the LT but it is a different car than the Speciale. I could totally understand someone owning both cars. The LT felt like one of the fastest cars I have been in and felt extremely light (the Speciale never felt heavy either) with insane power. The car always felt like it was ready to go with no signs of turbo lag etc. For a turbo car I was really happy with the sound of the car (at idle or from an outside view point). From inside the cabin you can here the turbos coming in and out of boost. To me it felt a little more dramatic than the Speciale. I like the steering feel better on the LT than the Speciale. The Speciale felt more light and the LT felt a little heavier which I personally like.

I do not think you can go wrong by any means with either car but they are two different cars.

Now I can't wait...My car is also Chicane Grey and I should have it next week...
As for the 488 comment on the post, I think it is closer to the 650 than the 675...Drove both cars back to back for a whole day, mainly on twisting mountain roads and I was significantly quicker in the 650. The 488 feels "looser" (easier on the limit though) whereas the 650S always feels planted and focused...It is still a lovely car, but if it is that close to a 650, I can't imagine it competing with a 675
I have an allocation for a 675LT Spider, but I was hoping to be offered a TdF so I haven't confirmed...I may do it later this month, as the TdF looks unlikely...
More info on how the 675 drives in a week or two!

488 stacks up against the 650S. The problem is that their release cycle does not coincide with each other's. That leaves a new generation car competing against the older generation car on the other side resulting in lop-sided comparison. In this present competitive landscape, no manufacturer's last gen car can cope with a newer gen car from their competitors as far as performance is concerned. Desirability on the other hand, is a different question.

675LT feels like a 360 Challenge Stradale with TWICE the power. It feels light and balanced, and unless you're going in a straight line has power on reserve almost all the time.

This is another odd McLaren topic in the 458/488 section. Do you have not enough attention in your own?

    Hi there,

Ok I've not had any driving time in any Ferrari (sad, I know) but I have driven an LT for a short while so I can share my views on the car.

    - The car felt very light and nimble; it could change direction with extreme accuracy and speed.

    - It was rapid > a super fast car. I checked the performance numbers on it and it really did feel that fast. I don't know if it WAS that fast (as it says on paper) but it was one of the fastest cars I've driven about in a long time. If you are looking for speed then I doubt many cars on the road can compete with this.

    - I'm not a turbo fan and the engine note didn't make me feel all that happy. It was a loud car, some rattle inside the cabin (at least in my example) but the engine noise wasn't anything to write home about. It sounded a bit muted, as expected, from a twin turbo car. The sound wasn't comparable to a NA Ferrari or Lamborghini; muted highs and idle was dull to me. Was there turbo lag? Actually, not much. I did notice it a little bit but really it faded into the background quickly. It had power all through the range and I wasn't ever asking myself "where is the power gone" or "I just noticed a power gap" or "I wish it was more powerful". If you are worried about lag, you won't find much here. I've felt more lag in a Porsche 911 997 TT (yes I know it is an older car, but that is the last TT car I have experience with).

    - In terms of grip this thing had loads of it. There is no way you'd get close to its limits on the street let alone a track unless you are a pro driver.
    - The body of the car is 9/10. Amazing. It has a monocoque (carbon tub) which makes a world of difference - you certainly feel it. The past cars I've driven without one don't feel nearly as tight, strong or stable as this one. I didn't encounter any flex and I did push it a little hard at times. Amazing construction in this car.
    - In terms of build quality [interior] I thought it was a step up from the 12C (which I did spend time in when it came out). In my opinion McLaren's build quality of the interior isn't fantastic and I have seen better, even in this car. I felt like the build wasn't as 'sharp' or refined compared to a 458 (which I've only sat in at a dealer). The 458 was nicer inside, the finish was better and it seemed to be put together at a higher level. I'm sure the Speciale is a step up from the 458 I sat in. Understand I'm not saying the materials (carbon etc.) in the interior is of bad quality but just that I felt it could be put together a little better.
    - In terms of features well this is a 'race' car of sorts, so you won't find anything inside of great luxury (which probably wasn't on your top-10 list anyway but thought I'd mention for the sake of it :) ).
    - In terms of seat comfort I thought it was ok, but not the best I've sat in. Seats were comfortable enough for what it is but the overall shape of the seats didn't fit my body perfectly and I left with a sore back.
    - In terms of suspension I thought it was really well handled. It dealt with bumps brilliantly in my opinion, and not just for a race car. It was an absolute pleasure to experience and I think McLaren did a super job with the suspension in the LT.

To summarise for you the car was exceptionally fast, decently loud (but not a great sound for me) and overall a great road experience. On a track I'm positive this car will best most competitors; on road a great weekender but I wouldn't want to be using it daily.

I know my opinions aren't really what you are looking for as I don't have Ferrari experience but I do hope you can gain something from what I've got here. best of luck!
