This is really big. Mad Max has forced a lot of F1 regulations that the teams are not thrilled about. (Not to mention have not benefited the on-track action the last 10 years).
Really curious to see who the replcement will be & the future affect on F1. Bernie will not sleep a wink tonight........

    Look at the Big Picture.

Todt, leaves Ferrari after many years with a lot of power in a fashion that doesn't create a much of a stir considering its the guy that managed Ferrari to numerous world championship after 21 years without.

Then a few weeks later scandal hits Mosley, if Todt does end up replacing him it will have all the hallmarks of the old Roman Tradition. If you have a good soldier that has become a problem for the unit. You promote him and remove him from the unit.

You can bet that a few people knew about Mosley's weekend activities, and was sitting on it, waiting to play the card when needed.

Card has been played, Jean Todt would you be come to the rescue of the FIA and save it from disgrace?

Don't forget the corporations that are the core of F1.

How can Renault, Mercedes Benz, Ferrari, BMW, Honda, Toyota, Bridgestone and others possibly allow themselves to be the biggest names in a series run by an apparent neo-Nazi who gets his rocks off by role playing with hookers as the commandant of a concentration camp? How could Mercedes possibly explain continued participation? How could companies like Vodafone, Shell, Microsoft, Marlboro, ING and all the others possibly remain financially tied to a series run by such a man?

It could not ever happen. Mosley is ruined. Let's hope this one's wife has a bit more sense than most of our shameful politicians who stand by their side. Mosley won't even be able to work pumping gas after this. His career is ruined. His reputation is ruined. His legacy is ruined. For all time, the name "Mosley" will be followed by cackles of laughter and Sgt Schultz impressions. He's done.

If I were Mosley I would deny that it was me in the video, then I would put out a statement that I was sick of being a target for public harassment, and that I was leaving F1 and going to move on to other endeavours with my family. Then I would either sit in the frickin house for 6+ months, or I'd take a loooooong vacation to somewhere that he will not be questioned. Like maybe South Africa, Uraguay, the mountainous regions of Peru or possibly shack up with a Mongolian reindeer herding family. Whatever it takes to ensure this all blows over.

If he even thinks of trying to stick it out, it will just mean unending humiliation. If he tries to deny it's him, the tabloids will be dogged in their pursuit of him. It really would be the best thing for HIM to just slink off into the sunset with as little fanfare as possible.

But Mosley is a man of unending ego and arrogance. He will not do this. He thinks he is all powerful and like many dictators they don't know it's over until they are having their head put in a noose.

Its about 3am in London right now. Do you think Mosley is fast asleep? Or lying awake wondering what tomorrow will bring? How does he actually go to work tomorrow? Who will be able to look him in the eye without bursting out laughing or turning away with disgust and contempt? There will be a HERD of photogs at his home (I bet they are camped out now as we speak) and another herd waiting at the office.

Mosley is as done as a turkey left in the oven for a week beyond it's cooking time. He's gone. And in the most spectacular fashion! I can't remember seeing an implosion like this in my lifetime!

Yes, please. Ask him what stings more...

That he's going to lose his wife, family, job, reputation, legacy and all respect anyone ever had for him.

    OR...

That Ron Dennis will never stop laughing at him.

Ask him which is really more preferable,...hookers dressed as traditional brown shirted Nazi army officers, black uniformed SS Nazi officers, or perhaps conservatably attired Gestapo officers?
And which one of Colonel Klink's secretarys was hotter: the original Helga or the later Hilda?

I doubt Todt had anything to do with it.

I think Todt would have to sever his ties completely with Ferrari if he wanted to take the FIA job. If it is indeed correct that Todt was "promoted" to remove him in a PR friendly way, it would have been easier to simply wait on it for a few weeks and send him directly from being Ferrari CEO to FIA Chairman. The interstitial of being a board member of Ferrari just clouds it, IMO.

Will do. My Wife suggested I greet him with: Sig Heil!

I wonder if he'll show. You are correct about the Sponsors. Anything Nazi is a very big problem in Germany, as it should be.

If it's true they have to give Mad Max the sack. Otherwise it will be seen as condoning this kind of behavior.

Remember the racist remarks in Spain. magnify that by a million times and you start to see the implications of this, dare I say "outrage."

the word insanity (as in completely bonkers) comes to mind. RIP Nazi Marietta!

I think I can reasonably say that Nazism is probably the worst thing to be associated with. It is universally hated around the world and brings up horrible memories for many.
It was bad enough that Daddy Ozzy was tight with Adolf but what possesses someone to do this is beyond me. The man needs some mental help quick.

I fear for Bernie should he stand too closely by in supporting Max. Comedy aside, the implications could be ghastly for the F1 enterprise if a lot of distance isn't created very quickly, in my opinion. Also, your wife has a wicked sense of humor--go with it!

    That's another very relevant point.

Max is going to find very little support in this fight. Anyone who would stand by his side would likely be regarded as condoning his behaviour by not being outraged by it. Whatever support Max thinks he is going to enjoy that will facilitate his passage through this matter is proabably going to be non-existant. I would imagine even Bernie will take a LOT of heat for his comments downplaying it.

Anyone relevant will either say nothing or will be forced to condemn him. And Max has no shortage of enemies. And they will POUNCE on him like a pride of lions zero'ing in on a wounded gazelle.

It really does illustrate the folly of hubris. How indiscreet is it walking through town to an apartment full of hookers then walking back home? How could a public figure not be more discreet? Only a man of tremendous ego and arrogance and a feeling of invincibility could be so stupid. The man is a LAWYER. It's not that he should know better, he DOES know better. Utter hubris.

First, quote Rudolf Höß [Hoess, not Hess], commandant of Auschwitz concentration camp from 1940 to 1943. "...Even Auschwitz had limits to its destructive possibilities" ...then, ask that Bastard to leave.

Under escort of Crown Prince's Guard, of course.

Excellent post Mike, I thought this was an April Fools gag when I first read it. What an Implosion is an understatement, this guy is so gone it is not even funny. Hookers bad enough, but that Nazi crap to top it off, unbelieveable.

Don't have one so i'm asking. I'd heard that somewhere but didn't think anything of it.. 'till now anyway.

Edit: an article referring to todt's dad as a holocaust victim:

Another referring to ecclestone as a Jewish business mogul:

Have you seen what happened to WRC after PSA pulled the french teams? Have you noticed the changes in F1?

"disgraced the office of fia president"?
Isn't that a little like getting a fish wet?

And did anyone notice where Enzo and Ferdinand spent the war?
(I'm guessing (from the 2cent shrink stuff schools usta teach) that the whole nazi aspect of the domme schtick is part of the "grendel's mother" attraction/repulsion hang-up. A bit like, for a younger generation, that whole Natasha Fatale thing from the Boris and Natasha bits of Bullwinkle. ;))

But mostly, anyone remember how many "reputable" rags picked up that perspective mangled picture of Hamilton "with" that girl? The one that made it look like their hands were lined up along the camera angle?

    The rumored innuendo superhighway?

And where was Alan Funt? (Smile, Max, you're on Candid Camera.)?
