Ed, Fiat 124 spider which has a few suppliers specialists available online even on EBay too . I seem to remember paying about $20 or so, not bad for a nice quality part Julian http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/Paar-Scheibenwaschdusen-Fiat-124-Spider-Coupe-Dino-850-windscreen-washer-jet-/361690044673?nav=SEARCH

Letter in classic and sports car December issue. I'm a bit confused over the wheels. They look like alloys not wire.
Hi Hilts. I think early Ghiblis were available with both the starburst alloy and the Borrani spoke wheels both with a knock-on fixing. My car 274 has the latter, and I think JulianMerak's car, and the show car in question here, have the former. Is that right Julian.....?? Anyone going to C&S show in London tomorrow? All the best Mark.
Hi Mark I am sure you right. I was just flagging that the letter mentioned borrani spinners and the picture of the car shows alloys Mike
Maybe the spinners themselves are made by Borrani whether they are fitted to Campagnolo alloys or Borrani wire wheels? Julian
Yes I actually have both the Campanolo Mag wheels and Borrani Wire wheels for my Ghibli with 52 mm hubs and the same Borrani knock off work with both.
I just found another wheel I have which is a 42mm hub. The wheel number is 40452 and the 42mm hub is much smaller with the mounting plate. Also the wheel measures 81/8 outside flange to outside flange which means it is a 7 inch wide wheel. The other wheels I have with the 52mm hubs measure 8 5/8 outside flange to outside flange which is a 7 1/2 inch wheel. The 42 mm wheel I have may have come from a Mexico I really have no idea.
Guys, a little help if you can. My Ghibli has been in bits for 12 years and I'm struggling to remember what the mechanism is for preventing the doors from opening too far. Table 39 of the body parts manual shows something very different to what my car has. I have a spring and over centre pivot arrangement inside the door shut at the top but this does not prevent the door opening too far. However, mid way down between the top and bottom hinge a triangular steel strip loop is fixed to the door and a hole for the part I am missing is in the 'A' pillar. The missing part may well be just a threaded hook arrangement but a photo or sketch would be great. Its time to get the old girl back in one piece. Thanks in advance. Chad
Chad, Here's a few of my photos. They show one of the rustiest parts of my car and they are pretty scary! I can look further but these might be the best I have Julian Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Thanks for the photo's Julian but as you say you have them missing too. Can you confirm you have a hole in the 'A' pillar opposite the metal strap on the door? Some nice metalwork going on there as well Chad
Julian Having had a closer look at your first and second photo's I'm now thinking that the triangular strip on the door might just be the pad that the courtesy light switch strikes against. If that's correct it means the mechanism to prevent the door opening too far is within the arrangement at the top? Chad
Mags on early cars are Borrani by Campagnolo. Borrani doesn't necessarily imply "wire wheels". Inviato dal mio iPhone utilizzando Tapatalk
Hi, Today, The Maserati Owners Club of Australia hosted the first of 2 runs over this weekend to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the original Ghibli. We managed to get 4 cars together which would have been 5 if a throttle cable hadn't decided it had had enough this morning. Hopefully tomorrows run to Wesley College in Melbourne will see 5 cars [ 3 of these and 2 others ] Hope you enjoy the images Julian Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login

Hi, I am now planning to remove the front and rear suspension prior to painting underneath my car. Does anyone have an article on removing the front springs safely that I could refer to please? Many Thanks Julian
