4.2 has blue cam covers and 4.7 has red cam covers. Additional info: The 4.2 was the standard motor in both cars and IIRC the 4.2 was not offered in US cars after 2010 or 11. All the US Q4s from 2011 forward were at least S models; which came with the 4.7 and all the GTs were at least S models from 2009 forward in the US which came with the 4.7 motor.

Opps sorry about that; your post didn’t say that just assumed you were asking about the new stuff.

There is a Maserati forum down below. You are much more likely to get an answer there.

Hi guys, new to the forum and couldn’t find any info online. Any info would be greatly appreciated. I currently have sourced a 4.2 liter F136 engine out of a Maserati Quattroporte for a build I am about to start.

My question is will an F430 intake manifold fit on the block? I saw another project on YouTube that used a California intake manifold, but had to weld in a spot for the injectors to sit. I’m wondering if the f430 manifold will fit seeing as it already has the injectors mounted on the runners.

    Thanks
