No free lunch my friend otherwise everybody drives a G1M plate but the rule is much better these days. You can also register the car to mainland later as tax is significantly reduced after few years.

Just go to any of the bigger boys to buy a car & they'll take care of it from there. Few hundred bucks to flatbed the car from island to KL then get them to warehouse it for you in the island. Heard that some local folks also rent parking to you for lesser

 

But then I do saw a few owner whose roadtax is RM10 which means it registered in Langkawi. But their car spend most of the time on the mainland.

I don't think roadtax RM10 does not mean it is registered in Langkawi, IIANM. I've seen as low as RM0.50 not Langkawi registered.

They said that there is 2 ways G1M plate can be used. One is buy Langkawi car and registered under G1M plate, so they are allow to spend 365 days on mainland. The other type is buy car in mainland and register G1M plate here. 2 forms.

Oh dear, what a painful sight! They have a habit of lose connections & when fuel or lubricants spray over the manifolds & you get a ball of fire. Hope insurance covers this.

 

Does this mean you can buy an F car in langakawi with the tax free price and then register it under G1M plate and then use it on mainland for 365 days...WOW sounds like a good deal.

Sure. There are three guys (including myself) with fcars and we do go for weekend drives regularly. Do call me wen u are in Ipoh...there are another three porch ;-) guys who also come along.
